Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation will be holding JD Crowdfunding Convention & Consultation sessions for two days from September 12 to 13.

This event was organized in collaboration with a Chinese crowdfunding platform, JD Crowdfunding, in order to identify Korean start-ups and help them advance into the Chinese market as well as get Chinese crowdfunding. Currently, more than 100 start-ups registered for the event.

JD Crowdfunding is a back-round type of crowdfunding, which provides clients with a video clip and introduction page in a bundle once the funding is completed after receiving pre-orders online. Through this project, JD Crowdfunding wil participate in the overall process of funding such as evaluating the marketability of Korean start-ups in China and the appropriateness of crowdfunding while promoting its projects both online and offline, getting certification for its products, and custom clearance.

If a participating start-up succeeds in winning the entry into JD Crowdfunding and funding, it can expect benefits and opportunities such as entry into JD.com and JD direct sales malls, identification of a subsequent buyer through Kotra in China, and support in securing global distribution channels from Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation.

Jong-Hyun Kim, Head of Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation said “collaboration with overseas crowdfunding platforms reduces risk Korean start-ups face when advancing into the global market and enables effective market validation” and added “we will strengthen projects which help connect with global platforms in the future”.
