Smartphone, basic technology, and game company investor K Cube Ventures declared on the 17th that they have co-invested 2.3 billion won in Jubilee Works for its calendar sharing service Jubilee Time Free.

Seibu Capital, SMBC Capital, Plantree Partners, Toei Animation, and other investors participated in this investment. Among them, K Cube Ventures invested 450 million won.

Jubilee Works was founded in September 2014 by Kakao Japan CCO Park Chajin and other core members from Yahoo Japan and Kakao Japan.

Jubilee Time Free is a calendar sharing service released in March 2015 by Jubilee Works for families, employees, friends, clubs, and other small groups. Because most of the scheduling is between related people, Jubilee Time Free is different from general calendar services, focusing on schedule sharing, recording, and communication.

Once a group calendar is created, the URL will be sent to group members. Group members can interact with the calendar without logging in. Multiple schedules based on each group or project can be created and managed in the application. You can chat and share pictures with group members.

Jubilee Time Free now supports 13 languages including Korean, Japanese, and English. It’s ranked No.1 on the Japanese App Store’s calendar category. Only 18 months after the service was released, there’re now 2.3 million users with 1 million MAU. Jubilee Time Free is growing into an international service. It won ‘App Store Best of 2015’ in the Korean and Japanese App Stores and ‘Best New Apps’ in the Japan, Korea, China mainland, Taiwan, and Hong Kong App Stores.

Calendar sharing is currently Jubilee Time Free’s main service. In the future it plans to develop into a ‘public calendar’ service where users and enterprises can make their calendars public. People with common interests can communicate together and share information with others.

Jubilee Works co-founder Park Chajin commented that “Photos, videos, and music are social objects that can be shared with people. A calendar is a tool to record past schedules and plan for the future. We will keep developing the service and create more value based on user behavior research.”

Standing Committee Member of Cube Ventures Jeong Sina, who leads this investment said, “Jubilee Time’s service provides solutions to calendar coordination problems. It’s an innovative service for time management and communication. Through their calendar service, I hope they can grow into an international social platform for communication and information.”
