Kono releases free version of its AI-based scheduling service

Konolabs has released a free version of its schedule management service Kono that uses artificial intelligence and chatbots to make setting up meetings easier.

Launched in 2014, the service aims to reduce the amount of time people spend setting up meetings and appointments. It uses an AI-based platform that compares individuals’ calendars to select the best time to meet up.

The service’s chatbot ‘Kono’ can communicate in both English and Korean and helps you manage appointments. It can confirm, change and cancel meetings as needed. You can also use Kono like your own personal receptionist; CC it into your emails and it will take note of any meetings you’ve organized and put them in your calendar automatically.

Kono has received patents for its technology and comes with all the other features you’d expect from a scheduler such as RSVPing, calendar integrations and analytics. The startup has already made a name for itself both here and overseas, receiving seed funding from 500 startups and winning the TechCrunch Pitch-Off in Seoul last year.

“As our customers use Kono, we will continue to develop it into a smarter and more useful service, and further the advancement of AI which is necessary for the office of the future,” says CEO of Konolabs, YJ Min. “In the future, we will add not only email, but other interfaces that can be used for various communication. We also plan to expand the number of languages available outside of Korean and English.”

The new free version of Kono can be accessed through Google mail, Google G Suite and Office 365 accounts only. As you might expect, the business version comes with more features such as SMS notifications and a web app.
