A survey revealed that Koreans spend the most time on KakaoTalk for mobile messaging.

WiseApp, a mobile application analyst, conducted a month-long sample survey in October on smartphone users. The sample survey revealed that KakaoTalk took 95% of the mobile messenger market share in Korea, followed Facebook Messenger at 2% and Line, WeChat and Telegram at 1% respectively.
In particular, people in their 40’s reported 97% of their time was spent on KakaoTalk for mobile messaging. On the other hand, teens’ time spent on the popular app is the least among age groups surveyed. The app took just 90% of their time for mobile messaging, while Facebook Messenger took 8%, relatively higher share compared with other age groups.
WiseApp surveyed 23,000 Android smartphone users across the country over the last month, and the results can be found on its website.
