반도체 후공정 전문기업 에이팩트는 인도 안드라프라데시 주에 설립 예정인 한국 OSAT(반도체 패키징 및 테스트) 기업 최초의 현지 합작법인(JV) 프로젝트가 12일 인도 중앙 각료회의(Union Cabinet)로부터 공식 승인을 받았다고 밝혔다.
이번 프로젝트는 인도 정부가 추진하는 ‘India Semiconductor Mission(ISM, 인도 반도체 미션)’의 일환으로, 인도 현지 파트너인 Advanced System in Package(ASIP) Technologies와 협력해 연간 약 9,600만 개 규모의 반도체 후공정 제품 생산이 가능한 시설을 구축하는 사업이다.
승인에 따라 에이팩트의 JV 프로젝트는 ISM 내 10건의 국가 전략 프로젝트 중 하나로 포함되며, 인도 중앙정부와 주정부로부터 총 자본적지출(CAPEX)의 75%(중앙정부 50%, 주정부 25%)에 해당하는 보조금을 받게 된다. 이에 따라 JV는 최소한의 자금으로 사업을 진행할 수 있으며, 에이팩트는 투자 대부분을 현물출자와 컨설팅 서비스 형태로 진행할 예정이다. 또한, 생산시설 설비 및 설계 서비스 관련 추가 수익 창출도 기대된다.
현지 파트너인 ASIP Technologies는 30년 이상의 산업 경험과 실리콘밸리 전략 네트워크, 인도 내 운영 노하우를 갖춘 경영진으로 구성되어 안정적인 사업 운영과 실행력을 갖추고 있다는 평가를 받고 있다.
이번 시설은 모바일폰, 셋톱박스, 차량용 전자시스템 등 다양한 분야에 적용될 예정이며, 해외 고객과의 접점을 확대하고 인도를 글로벌 생산 거점으로 활용하는 기반을 마련할 계획이다. 향후 국내 IDM(설계·제조 통합) 기업들의 해외 공장 확장 시 인도 시장 선점 효과도 기대된다.
에이팩트는 2025년 내 공장 착공을 목표로 부지 확보와 인프라 구축, 인허가 절차를 진행 중이며, 2027년부터 본격적인 양산에 돌입할 계획이다.
회사 관계자는 “이번 인도 합작법인 설립 승인은 단순한 생산시설 구축을 넘어 글로벌 반도체 공급망 내 에이팩트의 입지 강화와 장기 성장 기반 확보를 위한 전략적 전환점”이라며 “한국 OSAT 기업으로서는 최초의 인도 진출로, 인도를 첨단기술 중심 글로벌 거점으로 육성하고 시장 다변화에 기여하는 중요한 의미가 있다”고 밝혔다.

Apect's joint venture for semiconductor post-processing in India receives approval from the Central Council of Ministers.
Apect, a semiconductor post-processing specialist, announced on the 12th that its first local joint venture (JV) project with a Korean OSAT (semiconductor packaging and testing) company, scheduled to be established in Andhra Pradesh, India, received official approval from the Union Cabinet of India.
This project is part of the 'India Semiconductor Mission (ISM)' promoted by the Indian government, and is a project to build a facility capable of producing approximately 96 million semiconductor post-processing products annually in cooperation with local Indian partner Advanced System in Package (ASIP) Technologies.
Upon approval, Affect's JV project will be included as one of ten national strategic projects within the ISM and will receive subsidies equivalent to 75% of the total capital expenditure (CAPEX) from the central and state governments of India (50% from the central government and 25% from the state government). This will enable the JV to operate with minimal capital, with Affect expected to make the majority of its investment in the form of in-kind contributions and consulting services. Additional revenue generation from the provision of production facility equipment and design services is also expected.

Affect is currently in the process of securing land, building infrastructure, and obtaining permits, with the goal of starting construction of the plant by 2025, and plans to begin full-scale mass production in 2027.
A company official stated, “This approval for the establishment of the Indian joint venture is a strategic turning point that goes beyond simply establishing a production facility to strengthen A-Fact’s position in the global semiconductor supply chain and secure a foundation for long-term growth.” He added, “As the first Korean OSAT company to advance into India, it holds significant significance in fostering India as a global hub centered on advanced technologies and contributing to market diversification.”
