원자력 특화 인공지능(AI) 에이전트 플랫폼을 개발 중인 ㈜엠에스아이랩스는 과학기술정보통신부가 주관하는 ‘AI 글로벌 빅테크 육성사업'(경쟁형 R&BD)의 주관기관으로 선정됐다고 25일 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 연구개발특구 내 공공 연구기관의 AI 기술과 인프라를 민간 기업과 연계해, 글로벌 경쟁력을 갖춘 혁신 기업으로 육성하기 위한 정부 지원 프로그램이다. 엠에스아이랩스는 이번 선정을 통해 기술 상용화 및 해외 시장 진출을 위한 기반을 마련하게 됐다.
프로젝트는 엠에스아이랩스가 주관하고, 한국원자력연구원과 KAIST가 공동연구기관으로 참여한다. 세 기관은 공공기술 기반의 민간 혁신 모델 개발을 목표로 협력할 예정이다.
엠에스아이랩스는 한국원자력연구원 소형모듈원전(SMR) 설계 부서 출신 연구진이 창업한 기술 스타트업으로, 고정밀 해석, 구조 평가, 비파괴 진단, 상태 예측 등 원전 분야의 다양한 엔지니어링 솔루션을 개발해왔다.
이 같은 전문성을 바탕으로 엠에스아이랩스는 초기 스타트업 전문 투자사인 블루포인트파트너스의 투자를 유치했으며, 팁스(TIPS), 아산나눔재단, IBK기업은행, 신용보증기금 등 다양한 민·관 지원 프로그램에 선정된 바 있다.
이번 사업을 통해 엠에스아이랩스는 한국원자력연구원이 보유한 원자력 및 AI 기술을 이전받아 민간 주도의 AI 기술 내재화와 상용화를 추진한다. 이를 통해 차세대 원전 산업의 디지털 전환과 함께, 관련 분야의 글로벌 경쟁력 강화를 목표로 하고 있다.

MSI Labs Selected as Lead Organizer for the AI Global Big Tech Fostering Project
MSI Labs, Inc., which is developing an artificial intelligence (AI) agent platform specialized in nuclear energy, announced on the 25th that it has been selected as the main organization for the 'AI Global Big Tech Promotion Project' (competitive R&BD) hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT.
This project is a government-supported program that links AI technology and infrastructure from public research institutes within the R&D special zone with private companies to foster innovative companies with global competitiveness. Through this selection, MSI Labs has established a foundation for technology commercialization and expansion into overseas markets.
The project is led by MSI Labs, with Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute and KAIST participating as joint research institutes. The three organizations plan to collaborate to develop a public-private innovation model based on public technology.
MSI Labs is a technology startup founded by researchers from the Small Modular Reactor (SMR) design department of the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute. It has developed various engineering solutions in the nuclear power field, including high-precision analysis, structural evaluation, non-destructive diagnosis, and condition prediction.
Based on this expertise, MSI Labs attracted investment from Bluepoint Partners, an early-stage startup investment firm, and was selected for various public-private support programs, including TIPS, Asan Nanum Foundation, IBK Industrial Bank of Korea, and Korea Credit Guarantee Fund.
Through this project, MSI Labs will transfer nuclear power and AI technologies from the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) and promote private-sector-led AI technology internalization and commercialization. Through this, the company aims to facilitate the digital transformation of the next-generation nuclear power industry and strengthen global competitiveness in related fields.
“This project is an opportunity to showcase AI technology specialized in the nuclear power field to the global market,” said Kang-Heon Lee, CEO of MSI Labs. “We will simultaneously pursue technological advancement and commercialization to grow into a global-level core technology company.”

今回の事業は、研究開発特区内の公共研究機関のAI技術とインフラを民間企業と連携し、グローバル競争力を備えた革新企業として育成するための政府支援プログラムだ。エムエスアイラブスは今回の選定を通じて技術商用化及び海外市場進出のための基盤を設けることになった。
プロジェクトはエムエスアイラプスが主管し、韓国原子力研究院とKAISTが共同研究機関として参加する。三機関は公共技術基盤の民間イノベーションモデル開発を目標に協力する予定だ。

MSI Labs, Inc., qui développe une plateforme d'agents d'intelligence artificielle (IA) spécialisée dans l'énergie nucléaire, a annoncé le 25 qu'elle avait été sélectionnée comme organisation principale pour le « Projet mondial de promotion des grandes technologies de l'IA » (R&D compétitive) hébergé par le ministère des Sciences et des TIC.
Ce projet, un programme soutenu par le gouvernement, met en relation les technologies et infrastructures d'IA des instituts de recherche publics situés dans la zone spéciale de R&D avec des entreprises privées afin de favoriser l'émergence d'entreprises innovantes et compétitives à l'échelle mondiale. Grâce à cette sélection, MSI Labs a jeté les bases de la commercialisation de ses technologies et de son expansion sur les marchés internationaux.
Ce projet est piloté par MSI Labs, en collaboration avec l'Institut coréen de recherche sur l'énergie atomique et KAIST, qui y participent en tant qu'instituts de recherche conjoints. Les trois organisations prévoient de développer conjointement un modèle d'innovation public-privé fondé sur des technologies publiques.
MSI Labs est une start-up technologique fondée par des chercheurs du département de conception des petits réacteurs modulaires (SMR) de l'Institut coréen de recherche sur l'énergie atomique. Elle a développé diverses solutions d'ingénierie dans le domaine de l'énergie nucléaire, notamment l'analyse de haute précision, l'évaluation structurelle, le diagnostic non destructif et la prédiction de l'état des installations.

Dans le cadre de ce projet, MSI Labs transférera des technologies nucléaires et d'intelligence artificielle de l'Institut coréen de recherche sur l'énergie atomique (KAERI) et favorisera l'internationalisation et la commercialisation de ces technologies par le secteur privé. L'entreprise entend ainsi faciliter la transformation numérique de l'industrie nucléaire de nouvelle génération et renforcer sa compétitivité mondiale dans les domaines connexes.
« Ce projet est l’occasion de présenter au marché mondial une technologie d’IA spécialisée dans le domaine de l’énergie nucléaire », a déclaré Kang-Heon Lee, PDG de MSI Labs. « Nous poursuivrons simultanément le développement technologique et la commercialisation afin de devenir une entreprise technologique de pointe d’envergure mondiale. »
