의료 인공지능(AI) 및 디지털 수술 내비게이션 전문기업 휴톰이 9월 10일부터 12일까지 3일간 인천 인스파이어 호텔에서 개최되는 ‘국제 인공지능(AI) 의료제품 규제 심포지엄(AI Regulatory & International Symposium, 이하 AIRIS 2025)’에 참가한다고 10일 밝혔다.
이번 행사는 한국 식품의약안전처와 세계보건기구(WHO)가 공동 주최하며, AI를 활용한 의료제품의 글로벌 규제를 논의하는 중요한 자리다. 올해 행사에서는 ‘글로벌 AI 규제조화, 함께 여는 미래’라는 주제로 세계 각국 규제당국과 업계, 학계전문가들이 참석해 AI 의료제품의 기술과 규제 동향 등을 공유하고 향후 전망에 대해 논의한다.
이번 행사에서 휴톰은 지난해 공동판촉계약을 맺은 글로벌 의료기기 기업 존슨앤드존슨메드테크코리아와 나란히 참석해, 협력 제품인 수술 내비게이션 RUS를 부스 행사에서 시연한다.
휴톰의 RUS 플랫폼은 컴퓨터단층촬영장치(CT) 영상을 기반으로 환자의 해부학적 구조를 3차원으로 구현해 수술 전 계획 수립과 수술 중 내비게이션을 지원하는 소프트웨어다. 위·신장 수술용 솔루션은 의료진이 보다 정밀하고 효율적으로 수술 계획을 세우도록 돕고, 함께 등재된 RUS CREATOR는 환자 맞춤형 3D 모델링과 수술 계획 최적화를 가능하게 한다.
RUS는 한국에서 상용화된 수술용 내비게이션 플랫폼으로 외과의에게 수술에 대한 통찰력을 제공하며, 궁극적으로 수술 결과 및 환자의 예후를 향상시키는 데에 목적을 두고 있는 혁신적인 의료제품이다. 지난해 미국 식품의약국(FDA)으로부터 RUS Stomach의 510(k) 승인을 획득했으며, 국내에서도 평가유예 신의료기술로 선정돼 주요 병원에서 사용되고 있다.
현재 국내 주요 상급종합병원을 중심으로 활발히 사용되고 있으며, 지난해 5월 존슨앤드존슨메드테크코리아와 국내 위암, 신장암 수술을 대상으로 판매망 확대를 위한 공동판촉계약을 체결한 바 있다. 최근에는 적용 범위를 흉부 영역으로 확대한 폐 절제술 보조 솔루션 ‘RUS Lung’의 국내 인증을 완료해 복잡한 폐 혈관과 분절 구조를 정밀하게 시각화해 수술 안전성을 높이는 제품으로 주목받고 있다.

Hutom, a medical artificial intelligence (AI) and digital surgical navigation specialist, announced on the 10th that it will participate in the 'International Artificial Intelligence (AI) Medical Product Regulation Symposium (AI Regulatory & International Symposium, AIRIS 2025)' held at the Inspire Hotel in Incheon for three days from September 10th to 12th.

At this event, Hutom will be attending alongside Johnson & Johnson Medtech Korea, a global medical device company with which it signed a joint promotional agreement last year, and will be demonstrating its collaborative product, surgical navigation RUS, at the booth event.
Hutom's RUS platform is a software platform that uses computed tomography (CT) images to create a 3D representation of a patient's anatomy, supporting preoperative planning and intraoperative navigation. Solutions for gastric and renal surgery help medical professionals plan more precisely and efficiently, while the RUS CREATOR, also listed, enables personalized 3D modeling and surgical plan optimization.
RUS, a commercialized surgical navigation platform in Korea, is an innovative medical product that provides surgeons with insight into their operations and ultimately aims to improve surgical outcomes and patient prognosis. Last year, RUS Stomach received 510(k) approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It was also designated as a deferred evaluation new medical technology in Korea and is being used in major hospitals.
It is currently being actively used at major general hospitals in Korea, and in May of last year, a joint promotional agreement was signed with Johnson & Johnson Medtech Korea to expand its sales network for domestic gastric and kidney cancer surgeries. Recently, "RUS Lung," a lung resection assistance solution that expands its application to the thoracic region, completed domestic certification, drawing attention as a product that enhances surgical safety by precisely visualizing complex pulmonary blood vessels and segmental structures.

Cet événement, organisé conjointement par le ministère coréen de la Sécurité alimentaire et pharmaceutique et l'Organisation mondiale de la Santé (OMS), constitue un forum essentiel pour discuter de la réglementation mondiale des produits médicaux basés sur l'IA.
