생성형 AI 기반 대화형 디지털 휴먼 기술 기업 클레온(Klleon)은 ‘구글 포 스타트업스(Google for Startups)’가 주관하는 첫 번째 ‘제미나이 창업자 포럼(Gemini Founders Forum)’ 참여 기업으로 선정됐다고 30일 밝혔다. 국내 기업 중에서는 클레온이 유일하게 이름을 올렸다.
‘제미나이 창업자 포럼’은 구글이 AI 분야의 혁신 스타트업을 발굴·지원하기 위해 마련한 글로벌 프로그램으로, 전 세계 약 1천여 개 기업 중 53개사가 최종 선정됐다. 포럼은 11월 11~12일 미국 마운틴뷰 구글 본사에서 열리며, 참여 기업은 구글 딥마인드와 구글 클라우드 전문가들로부터 제품 전략, 기술 고도화, 글로벌 진출 전략 등에 대한 멘토링을 받게 된다.
클레온은 또한 ‘구글 포 스타트업 제미나이 킷(Google for Startups Gemini Kit)’을 통해 클라우드 크레딧, 제미나이 API 스프린트, 구글 AI 스튜디오 클라우드 스킬 부스트 등 최대 35만 달러 규모의 지원을 받는다.
2019년 설립된 클레온은 생성형 AI 기반 대화형 디지털 휴먼 기술을 개발하는 딥테크 스타트업으로, 삼성벤처투자·LB인베스트먼트 등으로부터 시리즈A 투자를 유치한 바 있다. 6년간 연구해온 원천기술을 기반으로 SDK(소프트웨어 개발 키트) 우선 전략을 추진하며 호텔, 리테일, 교통 등 다양한 산업 분야에서 실시간 다국어 디지털 휴먼 서비스를 제공하고 있다.
구글은 공식 블로그를 통해 클레온을 ‘SDK-우선 생성형 AI 플랫폼 기업(SDK-first generative AI platform)’으로 소개하며, 선도적 기업으로 평가했다. 클레온은 국제전기통신연합(ITU-T)에서 디지털 휴먼 통신 서비스 요구사항 관련 표준특허(F.CSDH)를 확보했으며, ETRI 및 MPAI 커뮤니티와 협력해 국제 표준화를 추진하고 있다.

Cleon Joins the Google Gemini Founders Forum Cohort
Klleon, a company developing generative AI-based conversational digital human technology, announced on the 30th that it has been selected to participate in the inaugural "Gemini Founders Forum," hosted by Google for Startups. Klleon is the only Korean company to be included.
The Gemini Founders Forum is a global program launched by Google to discover and support innovative AI startups. Fifty-three companies were selected from approximately 1,000 companies worldwide. The forum will be held at Google's Mountain View headquarters on November 11th and 12th, and participating companies will receive mentoring from experts from Google DeepMind and Google Cloud on product strategy, technology advancement, and global expansion strategies.
Cleon is also receiving support of up to $350,000 through the Google for Startups Gemini Kit, including cloud credits, Gemini API sprints, and Google AI Studio Cloud Skill Boosts.
Founded in 2019, Kleon is a deep-tech startup developing conversational digital human technology based on generative AI. It has secured Series A funding from Samsung Venture Investment and LB Investment. Building on six years of research and core technology, Kleon pursues an SDK (Software Development Kit)-first strategy, providing real-time, multilingual digital human services across diverse industries, including hotels, retail, and transportation.
Google introduced Kleon on its official blog as an "SDK-first generative AI platform," acknowledging its leadership. Kleon has secured a standard patent (F.CSDH) related to digital human communication service requirements from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU-T) and is working with ETRI and the MPAI community to promote international standardization.
