충남콘텐츠진흥원(원장 김곡미)이 사우디아라비아 리야드에서 열린 ‘BIBAN 2025’ 전시회에 참가해, 사우디의 대표 스타트업 인큐베이팅 기관인 느무헙(Nmohub)과 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다. 이번 협약을 통해 충남 지역 스타트업의 중동 진출 및 글로벌 네트워크 확장이 본격화될 전망이다.
느무헙은 사우디 중소벤처기업부(Monsha’at) 산하 기관으로, 중동권 창업 생태계 조성과 투자 유치, 스타트업 교육을 주도하는 핵심 조직이다. 진흥원은 느무헙과의 협약을 통해 ▲스타트업 글로벌 시장 진출 및 판로 개척 ▲해외 투자 및 IR 네트워크 구축 ▲공동 프로그램 추진 등 다각적인 협력 체계를 마련했다.
이번 협약에는 충남 천안 스타트업파크 입주기업 ㈜세라(SERA Inc.)의 참여가 눈에 띈다. 세라는 친환경 복합소재 및 AI 모듈러 기술을 보유한 기업으로, 느무헙의 술탄 알 카흐타니 회장 및 사우디 기초소재회사(Industrial Basic Material)와 전략적 MOU를 체결했다. 협약에 따라 양측은 친환경 복합소재 생산라인 구축과 AI 기반 모듈러 데이터센터 인프라 개발에 협력할 예정이다.
인공지능(AI) 기술은 사우디를 포함한 글로벌 시장에서 핵심 산업으로 부상하고 있으며, 시장조사기관 IDC에 따르면 AI 관련 투자는 연평균 25% 이상 성장세를 보이고 있다.
김곡미 원장은 “이번 협약이 충남 스타트업들의 중동 진출을 위한 실질적 계기가 될 것”이라며, “사우디를 중심으로 한 네트워크 확장을 통해 지속적인 글로벌 성장 기반을 마련하겠다”고 밝혔다. 행사 기간 동안 김 원장은 충남의 산업 및 콘텐츠 역량을 소개하며 ‘2025-2026 충남 방문의 해’ 홍보에도 나섰다.

The Chungnam Content Agency (President Kim Gok-mi) participated in the "BIBAN 2025" exhibition held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Nmohub, a leading Saudi startup incubator. This agreement is expected to accelerate the expansion of Chungnam startups into the Middle East and their global network.
Nemuhub, an organization under the Saudi Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Monsha'at), is a key organization responsible for fostering the Middle East's startup ecosystem, attracting investment, and providing startup education. Through its agreement with Nemuhub, the Promotion Agency has established a multifaceted cooperative framework, including: ▲supporting startups' global market entry and market development; ▲establishing overseas investment and investor relations networks; and ▲promoting joint programs.
This agreement notably features the participation of SERA Inc., a company located in the Cheonan Startup Park in South Chungcheong Province. SERA, a company specializing in eco-friendly composite materials and AI modular technologies, signed a strategic MOU with Sultan Al Qahtani, Chairman of Nemuhub, and the Saudi Industrial Basic Material Company. Under the agreement, the two parties will collaborate on building an eco-friendly composite material production line and developing an AI-based modular data center infrastructure.
Artificial intelligence (AI) technology is emerging as a key industry in global markets, including Saudi Arabia, and according to market research firm IDC, AI-related investments are growing at an average annual rate of more than 25%.
President Kim Gok-mi stated, "This agreement will serve as a practical catalyst for South Chungcheong startups to expand into the Middle East. We will establish a foundation for sustained global growth by expanding our network, centered around Saudi Arabia." During the event, President Kim also promoted the "Visit South Chungcheong Year 2025-2026" initiative, highlighting South Chungcheong's industrial and content capabilities.
