디펜스테크 스타트업 본(Bone, 대표 이도경)이 170억 원(약 1,200만 달러) 규모의 시드 투자를 유치했다고 18일 밝혔다. 이번 투자에는 미국 벤처캐피털 써드 프라임(Third Prime)이 주도적으로 참여했으며, 코오롱인더스트리가 전략적 투자자로 함께했다. 타임폴리오자산운용, 케이넷투자파트너스, 더벤처스, 베이스벤처스도 투자에 참여했다.
본은 국방 및 재난 대응을 위한 자율 로보틱스 시스템을 개발하는 기업으로, 미국 실리콘밸리와 서울에 본사를 두고 있다. 회사는 AI 기반 의사결정 알고리즘과 정밀 하드웨어, 제조 기술을 통합한 풀스택 로보틱스 플랫폼을 구축해 실제 환경에서 작동 가능한 국방급 자율 시스템을 개발하고 있으며, 한국에는 설계부터 양산까지 가능한 제조 인프라를 갖췄다.

올해 1월 설립된 본은 글로벌 공급망 재편 속에서 한국을 첨단 디펜스 제조 허브로 성장시키는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. 단순 로봇 제조를 넘어 피지컬 AI 기반의 지능형 국방 산업 생태계를 구축해 새로운 국방 제조 혁신을 추진할 계획이다. 이번 투자금은 AI, 로보틱스, 제조, 공장 운영 등 핵심 인재 확보와 연구개발, 생산 역량 확충에 사용된다.

Founded in January of this year, Bon aims to foster Korea as a hub for advanced defense manufacturing amidst the restructuring of the global supply chain. Beyond simple robot manufacturing, the company plans to build an intelligent defense industry ecosystem based on physical AI, driving new innovations in defense manufacturing. This investment will be used to secure key talent in AI, robotics, manufacturing, and factory operations, as well as to expand R&D and production capabilities.

Au-delà de la simple production de robots, l'entreprise prévoit de bâtir un écosystème industriel de défense intelligent, basé sur l'intelligence artificielle physique, afin de stimuler l'innovation dans ce domaine. Cet investissement permettra d'attirer les talents clés en IA, robotique, production et exploitation d'usines, ainsi que de développer les capacités de R&D et de production.
