세포·유전자치료제(CGT) 전문기업 이엔셀(ENCell)은 일본 알프레사 그룹의 재생의료 계열사 CRC(Cell Resources Corporation)와 전략적 파트너십 계약을 체결했다고 24일 밝혔다.
이엔셀과 CRC는 지난 3월 CGT 분야 협력 강화를 위한 MOU를 체결한 이후 구체적인 사업 협력 방안을 논의해 왔다. 이번 계약은 MOU 내용을 실질적 사업 실행 단계로 구체화한 것으로, 양사의 재생의료 분야 협력 체계가 본격 가동됨을 의미한다.
이번 협력을 통해 CRC는 이엔셀의 차세대 중간엽줄기세포(MSC) 치료제 ‘EN001’을 일본 제약사와 바이오텍에 소개하며 라이선싱(L/O) 및 현지 파트너십 기회를 창출한다. 양사는 또한 CDMO(위탁개발생산) 서비스를 필요로 하는 잠재 고객 정보를 공유하고, 한·일 양국에서 사업 기회를 확대하기로 합의했다.
이엔셀은 CRC에 일본 재생의료 시장 분석, 사업 전략 수립, 시설 운영 및 제조 역량 검증 등 포괄적 자문 서비스를 제공하며, CAR-T 및 MSC 기술 노하우를 이전해 CRC의 사업 경쟁력을 지원할 계획이다. CRC는 알프레사 그룹 내에서 재생의료 공급망 구축을 담당하며, EN001의 글로벌 라이선싱과 일본 내 CDMO 사업 확장에 협력할 예정이다.
현재 이엔셀은 샤르코-마리-투스병(CMT), 듀센 근디스트로피(DMD), 근감소증 등을 적응증으로 EN001을 개발 중이며, 글로벌 라이선싱 전략을 추진하고 있다. 이번 파트너십은 일본 시장 진출과 함께 글로벌 기술이전 및 파트너링 확대의 중요한 기반이 될 전망이다.

YENCELL Establishes Strategic Partnership with Japan's CRC
ENCell, a company specializing in cell and gene therapy (CGT), announced on the 24th that it has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Cell Resources Corporation (CRC), a regenerative medicine subsidiary of Japan's Alfresa Group.
Since signing an MOU in March to strengthen cooperation in the CGT field, YENCELL and CRC have been discussing specific business collaboration plans. This agreement concretizes the MOU's contents into practical business implementation, marking the full launch of the two companies' cooperation in the field of regenerative medicine.
Through this collaboration, CRC will introduce ENCell's next-generation mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) treatment, EN001, to Japanese pharmaceutical companies and biotech companies, creating licensing (L/O) and local partnership opportunities. The two companies also agreed to share information on potential customers requiring CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization) services and expand business opportunities in both Korea and Japan.
ENCell will provide CRC with comprehensive advisory services, including analysis of the Japanese regenerative medicine market, business strategy development, facility operation, and manufacturing capability verification. Furthermore, it plans to transfer its CAR-T and MSC technology expertise to support CRC's business competitiveness. CRC will be responsible for establishing a regenerative medicine supply chain within the Alfresa Group and will collaborate on the global licensing of EN001 and the expansion of its CDMO business in Japan.
Currently, Encell is developing EN001 for indications including Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT), Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), and sarcopenia, and is pursuing a global licensing strategy. This partnership is expected to serve as a crucial foundation for expanding global technology transfer and partnerships, along with entry into the Japanese market.
Jang Jong-wook, CEO of Encell, said, “Through this partnership, we will accelerate the development of new drug pipelines and technology transfers in Japan, and also generate results in the CDMO business.”

現在イエンセルはシャルコ・マリー・トゥース病（CMT）、デュッセン筋ジストロフィ（DMD）、筋減少症などを適応症としてEN001を開発中であり、グローバルライセンス戦略を推進している。今回のパートナーシップは日本市場進出とともにグローバル技術移転及びパートナーリング拡大の重要な基盤となる見通しだ。

ENCell, une société spécialisée dans la thérapie cellulaire et génique (CGT), a annoncé le 24 avoir signé un accord de partenariat stratégique avec Cell Resources Corporation (CRC), une filiale de médecine régénérative du groupe japonais Alfresa.
Depuis la signature d'un protocole d'accord en mars visant à renforcer la coopération dans le domaine des thérapies géniques et cellulaires, YENCELL et CRC ont discuté de plans de collaboration commerciale concrets. Cet accord concrétise les termes du protocole d'accord en une mise en œuvre opérationnelle, marquant le lancement officiel de la coopération entre les deux entreprises dans le domaine de la médecine régénérative.
Grâce à cette collaboration, CRC présentera le traitement de nouvelle génération à base de cellules souches mésenchymateuses (CSM) d'ENCell, EN001, aux entreprises pharmaceutiques et biotechnologiques japonaises, créant ainsi des opportunités de licences et de partenariats locaux. Les deux entreprises ont également convenu de partager des informations sur les clients potentiels ayant besoin de services de CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization) et d'étendre leurs opportunités commerciales en Corée et au Japon.
ENCell fournira à CRC des services de conseil complets, incluant l'analyse du marché japonais de la médecine régénérative, le développement de stratégies commerciales, l'exploitation des installations et la vérification des capacités de production. Encell développe actuellement l'EN001 pour des indications telles que la maladie de Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT), la dystrophie musculaire de Duchenne (DMD) et la sarcopénie, et met en œuvre une stratégie de licences internationales. Ce partenariat devrait constituer un pilier essentiel pour le développement des transferts de technologie et des partenariats à l'échelle mondiale, ainsi que pour l'entrée sur le marché japonais.
Jang Jong-wook, PDG d'Encell, a déclaré : « Grâce à ce partenariat, nous allons accélérer le développement de nouveaux médicaments et les transferts de technologie au Japon, et générer également des résultats dans le secteur des CDMO. »
