극초기 스타트업 전문 투자사 베이스벤처스와 글로벌 창업가 육성 플랫폼 EO(이오스튜디오)가 공동으로 운영하는 미국 기반 글로벌 벤처펀드 ‘패트리어트 펀드 1’을 결성했다고 밝혔다.
이번 펀드는 AI, 소비재 등 분야에서 창업 초기 단계부터 미국 법인을 설립하고 글로벌 시장 진출을 시도하는 스타트업을 대상으로 투자하며, 포트폴리오사의 해외 성장을 지원하는 것을 목표로 한다.
EO와 베이스벤처스는 그간 축적한 경험과 네트워크를 활용해 샌프란시스코에서 공동 운영 중인 해커하우스, EO의 스타트업 미디어·교육 프로그램, 베이스벤처스의 그로스 팀 및 모펀드를 연계한 다양한 성장 지원 체계를 구축할 예정이다. 이를 통해 패트리어트 펀드 포트폴리오사들이 글로벌 시장에서 성장할 수 있도록 적극 지원한다.
EO 김태용 대표는 “국내 시장 중심으로 성공했던 스타트업 생태계를 혁신하고 한국인의 글로벌 꿈과 야망을 확대하는 것이 목표”라며, “한국 국적 여부와 관계없이 투자하며 한국 모험 자본이 글로벌로 나아가는 계기가 되길 기대한다”고 말했다.
베이스벤처스 신윤호 대표는 “글로벌 시장이 베이스벤처스가 추구하는 ‘미친 꿈을 위대하게’ 실현에 적합한 환경이며, 이를 지원하고자 새로운 형태의 펀드를 결성했다”고 밝혔다.

Base Ventures and EO Launch US-Based Global Venture Fund, Patriot Fund 1
Base Ventures, an investment firm specializing in ultra-early-stage startups, and EO (EO Studio), a global entrepreneur incubation platform, announced the formation of a US-based global venture fund, 'Patriot Fund 1'.
This fund aims to invest in startups in fields such as AI and consumer goods that are establishing U.S. corporations and attempting to enter the global market from the early stages of their establishment, supporting the overseas growth of their portfolio companies.
EO and Base Ventures will leverage their accumulated experience and networks to establish a diverse growth support system that connects the Hacker House, a joint venture in San Francisco, EO's startup media and education programs, and Base Ventures' growth team and mother fund. Through this, they will actively support Patriot Fund portfolio companies' growth in the global market.
EO CEO Kim Tae-yong said, “Our goal is to innovate the startup ecosystem that has been successful primarily in the domestic market and expand the global dreams and ambitions of Koreans,” adding, “We hope that investing regardless of Korean citizenship will serve as an opportunity for Korean venture capital to advance globally.”
Shin Yoon-ho, CEO of Base Ventures, stated, “The global market is the perfect environment for Base Ventures to realize its ‘crazy dreams,’ and we have established a new type of fund to support this.”

EOとベースベンチャーズはこれまでに蓄積した経験とネットワークを活用し、サンフランシスコで共同運営中のハッカーハウス、EOのスタートアップメディア・教育プログラム、ベースベンチャーズのグロスチームおよびモーファンドを連携した多様な成長支援体系を構築する予定だ。これにより、パトリオットファンドのポートフォリオ社がグローバル市場で成長できるように積極的に支援する。
EOキム・テヨン代表は「国内市場中心に成功したスタートアップエコシステムを革新し、韓国人のグローバル夢と野望を拡大することが目標」とし、「韓国国籍の有無にかかわらず投資し、韓国冒険資本がグローバルに進むきっかけになることを期待する」と話した。
ベースベンチャーズのシン・ユンホ代表は「グローバル市場がベースベンチャーズが追求する「狂った夢を偉大に」実現に適した環境であり、これを支援しようと新しい形態のファンドを結成した」と明らかにした。

Base Ventures, une société d'investissement spécialisée dans les startups en phase d'amorçage, et EO (EO Studio), une plateforme mondiale d'incubation d'entrepreneurs, ont annoncé la création d'un fonds de capital-risque mondial basé aux États-Unis, « Patriot Fund 1 ».
Ce fonds vise à investir dans des startups opérant dans des domaines tels que l'IA et les biens de consommation, qui créent des sociétés américaines et tentent de pénétrer le marché mondial dès leurs premières étapes de création, en soutenant la croissance à l'étranger de leurs sociétés en portefeuille.
