AI 기반 물류 자율주행 스타트업 서울로보틱스(대표 이한빈)는 현대자동차그룹 싱가포르 글로벌 혁신센터(HMGICS)에서 CFO를 맡았던 우상길을 부사장 겸 최고재무책임자(CFO)로 영입했다고 20일 밝혔다.
우상길 CFO는 현대자동차그룹에서 약 16년간 원가 및 재무 부문 핵심 보직을 수행하며 대형 완성차 업체의 개발과 양산 체계, 품질 요구사항, 납품 프로세스 전반에 대한 경험을 쌓아왔다. 이러한 경력을 바탕으로 글로벌 자동차 공장 내 자율주행 솔루션 상용화를 재무적·운영적으로 지원할 것으로 회사 측은 기대하고 있다.
우 CFO는 현대자동차그룹 최초의 해외 혁신 거점인 HMGICS에서 사업 구조와 재무 전략을 설계하고, 초기 대규모 투자 유치와 자금 조달, 예산 집행을 주도했다. 또한 셀 제조 방식에 맞춘 스마트팩토리 원가 관리 시스템을 업계 최초로 도입해 생산 효율성과 비용 절감을 동시에 달성했으며, 제조 신기술을 개발·검증하는 제조기술 연구개발 체계를 구축해 생산과 연구개발을 단일 거점에서 운영할 수 있도록 했다.
이전에는 현대차 광주글로벌모터스(GGM) 프로젝트에서 초기 원가 시스템 구축을 담당했으며, 현대차 아산공장에서 약 10년간 원가 관리와 수익성 개선 업무를 수행하는 등 제조업 전반의 재무 관리를 경험했다.
서울로보틱스는 이번 CFO 영입을 통해 매출 성장성과 사업 상용화 역량을 강화할 수 있을 것으로 보고 있다. 완성차 양산 현장에 대한 이해를 갖춘 재무 책임자가 고객사 요구 수준에 맞춘 상용화 로드맵과 원가 구조 최적화를 지원할 수 있다는 판단이다.

CFO Woo Sang-gil has held key cost and finance positions at Hyundai Motor Group for approximately 16 years, accumulating extensive experience in development, mass production systems, quality requirements, and the entire delivery process for major automakers. The company expects this experience to provide financial and operational support for the commercialization of autonomous driving solutions within global automotive plants.
At HMGICS, Hyundai Motor Group's first overseas innovation hub, CFO Woo designed the business structure and financial strategy, and led the initial large-scale investment attraction, financing, and budget execution. He also pioneered the adoption of a smart factory cost management system tailored to cell manufacturing, achieving both production efficiency and cost savings. He also established a manufacturing technology R&D system to develop and verify new manufacturing technologies, enabling production and R&D to operate from a single location.

Seoul Robotics believes that the appointment of this CFO will strengthen its sales growth and commercialization capabilities. The company believes that a finance manager with a deep understanding of the mass production of finished vehicles will be able to support a commercialization roadmap tailored to customer needs and optimize its cost structure.
