ESG 솔루션 스타트업 위플즈(대표 송민영)와 이커머스 인프라 미들웨어 전문기업 엔트위즈소프트(대표 유철웅)는 지난 4일 ESG 기반 디지털 생태계 구축 및 그린웹테크(Green Web Tech) 시장 선점을 위한 전략적 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
이번 협약은 디지털 산업 전반에서 탄소 배출 저감의 필요성이 확대되는 가운데, 플랫폼 구축 단계부터 ESG 가치를 반영하려는 공공기관과 기업의 수요에 대응하기 위해 추진됐다. 양사는 ESG 요소를 고려한 웹 및 플랫폼 개발 방식의 필요성이 높아지고 있다고 보고, 관련 기술과 서비스 협력을 강화하기로 했다.
양사가 제시한 그린웹테크는 웹사이트와 플랫폼 구축 과정에서 데이터 전송량과 시스템 리소스 사용을 최적화해 탄소 배출량과 전력 사용 지표를 개선하는 ESG 기반 개발·운영 방식이다. 이를 통해 디지털 서비스의 환경 영향을 줄이는 것을 목표로 한다.
이번 MOU를 통해 양사는 위플즈의 ESG 기획, 디자인, 프론트엔드 역량과 엔트위즈소프트의 이커머스 인프라 및 백엔드 개발 기술을 결합한 통합 컨소시엄 모델을 운영할 계획이다. 이를 기반으로 기존 대형 SI 업체 대비 경쟁력 있는 비용 구조와 ESG 요소를 결합한 차별화된 솔루션을 제공해 시장 경쟁력을 확보한다는 전략이다.
