서울바이오허브는 ‘한국아스트라제네카–서울바이오허브 글로벌 오픈이노베이션 프로그램’을 통해 최종 선정된 바이오·의료 스타트업 2개사에 대한 시상식을 9일 진행했다고 밝혔다.
이번 프로그램은 유망 국내 바이오텍이 글로벌 스탠다드로 조기에 도약할 수 있도록, 향후 기술이전 및 공동개발 잠재 파트너가 될 글로벌 제약사의 분야별 전문가가 직접 맞춤형 R&D 멘토링을 제공하는 방식으로 운영된다. 총 33개 기업이 지원했으며, R&I 및 희귀질환 치료 영역과 조직 특이 약물 전달 기술 영역에서 총 2개사가 최종 선정됐다.
약물 전달 기술 영역에서 선정된 아바타 테라퓨틱스(AAVATAR Therapeutics, 조승희 대표)는 서울바이오허브 졸업기업으로, AI와 대규모 생물학 데이터를 활용한 AAV 캡시드 전달체 기반의 유전자치료제를 개발한다. R&I 및 희귀질환 치료 영역에서 선정된 큐로젠(CUROGEN Technology, 이창우 대표)은 저분자 화합물과 융합 단백질 형태의 자가면역질환 치료제를 개발하며, 올해 미국 임상 개발 단계 진입을 목표로 준비 중이다. 큐로젠은 최근 미국 바이오 투자사 고든엠디글로벌인베스트먼트로부터 투자를 유치한 국내 1호 기업이기도 하다.
선정 기업에는 ▲아스트라제네카 글로벌 전문가와 연계된 맞춤형 R&D 멘토링 ▲1년간 서울바이오허브 입주 지원 ▲기업당 3,500만 원 연구 지원금 등이 제공된다. 또한 스웨덴 예테보리에 위치한 아스트라제네카 바이오벤처허브 입주를 희망하는 기업은 선정 시 현지 연구진과 리소스 교류 기회를 얻게 된다.
멘토링은 2026년 1월 킥오프 미팅을 시작으로 약 1년간 진행되며, 기업별 R&D 수요와 개발 단계에 맞춘 주제 설정과 성과 점검 등 단계별 프로그램으로 운영될 예정이다.

Seoul BioHub and AstraZeneca Korea Select Two Startups to Participate in Global Open Innovation
Seoul Bio Hub announced on the 9th that it held an awards ceremony for two bio/medical startups that were finally selected through the 'Korea AstraZeneca-Seoul Bio Hub Global Open Innovation Program'.
This program aims to help promising domestic biotech companies quickly achieve global standards by providing tailored R&D mentoring directly from field experts from global pharmaceutical companies, potential partners for future technology transfer and joint development. A total of 33 companies applied, and two were ultimately selected in the R&I and rare disease treatment areas and tissue-specific drug delivery technology areas.
AAVATAR Therapeutics (CEO Seung-hee Cho), selected in the drug delivery technology field, is a Seoul Bio Hub graduate developing gene therapies based on AAV capsid vectors, leveraging AI and large-scale biological data. Curogen (CEO Chang-woo Lee), selected in the R&I and rare disease treatment field, is developing autoimmune disease treatments in the form of small molecules and fusion proteins, and is preparing to enter the US clinical development stage this year. Curogen is also the first Korean company to recently attract investment from Gordon MD Global Investment, a US bio investment firm.
Selected companies will receive: customized R&D mentoring from AstraZeneca's global experts; one-year residency at the Seoul Bio Hub; and a research grant of 35 million won per company. Furthermore, companies seeking to reside at the AstraZeneca BioVenture Hub in Gothenburg, Sweden, will have opportunities to exchange resources with local researchers if selected.
The mentoring program will begin with a kickoff meeting in January 2026 and will run for approximately one year. It will be operated as a step-by-step program, including setting topics and reviewing performance tailored to each company's R&D needs and development stage.

ソウルバイオハブは「韓国アストラジェネカ－ソウルバイオハブグローバルオープンイノベーションプログラム」を通じて最終選定されたバイオ・医療スタートアップ２社に対する授賞式を９日進行したと明らかにした。

薬物送達技術分野で選ばれたアバターテラピュティクス（AAVATAR Therapeutics、チョ・スンヒ代表）はソウルバイオハブ卒業企業で、AIと大規模生物学データを活用したAAVキャプシド伝達体ベースの遺伝子治療剤を開発する。 R&Iおよび希少疾患治療領域で選ばれたキュロジェン(CUROGEN Technology,イ・チャンウ代表)は低分子化合物と融合タンパク質の形態の自己免疫疾患治療剤を開発し、今年米国臨床開発段階への参入を目指して準備中だ。キュロジェンは最近、米国バイオ投資会社ゴードンエムデグローバルインベストメントから投資を誘致した国内1号企業でもある。
選定企業には▲アストラジェネカグローバル専門家と連携したカスタマイズされたR&Dメンタリング▲1年間ソウルバイオハブ入居支援▲企業当たり3,500万ウォンの研究支援金などが提供される。また、スウェーデンのヨーテボリにあるアストラジェネカのバイオベンチャーハブ入居を希望する企業は、選定時に現地の研究者とリソース交流の機会を得ることになる。
メンタリングは2026年1月のキックオフミーティングを皮切りに約1年間行われ、企業別R&D需要と開発段階に合わせたテーマ設定や成果チェックなど段階別プログラムで運営される予定だ。

Le Seoul Bio Hub a annoncé le 9 avoir organisé une cérémonie de remise de prix pour deux jeunes entreprises biomédicales qui ont finalement été sélectionnées dans le cadre du « Programme mondial d'innovation ouverte Corée AstraZeneca-Seoul Bio Hub ».
Ce programme vise à aider les entreprises biotechnologiques nationales prometteuses à atteindre rapidement les standards internationaux en leur offrant un mentorat en R&D personnalisé, dispensé directement par des experts de grandes entreprises pharmaceutiques internationales, partenaires potentiels pour de futurs transferts de technologie et des développements conjoints. Sur les 33 entreprises candidates, deux ont finalement été sélectionnées dans les domaines de la recherche et de l'innovation, du traitement des maladies rares et des technologies d'administration de médicaments ciblées.
AAVATAR Therapeutics (PDG : Seung-hee Cho), sélectionnée dans le domaine des technologies d'administration de médicaments, est une entreprise issue du Seoul Bio Hub qui développe des thérapies géniques à base de vecteurs AAV, en s'appuyant sur l'IA et des données biologiques à grande échelle. Curogen (PDG : Chang-woo Lee), sélectionnée dans le domaine de la recherche et du développement et du traitement des maladies rares, développe des traitements contre les maladies auto-immunes sous forme de petites molécules et de protéines de fusion, et se prépare à entrer cette année dans la phase de développement clinique aux États-Unis. Les entreprises sélectionnées bénéficieront d'un accompagnement personnalisé en R&D assuré par les experts internationaux d'AstraZeneca, d'une année de résidence au Seoul Bio Hub et d'une subvention de recherche de 35 millions de wons chacune. De plus, les entreprises souhaitant s'installer au sein de l'AstraZeneca BioVenture Hub de Göteborg, en Suède, auront la possibilité d'échanger des ressources avec des chercheurs locaux si elles sont sélectionnées.
Le programme de mentorat débutera par une réunion de lancement en janvier 2026 et durera environ un an. Il se déroulera selon un processus progressif, comprenant la définition de thèmes et l'évaluation des performances, adaptés aux besoins en R&D et au stade de développement de chaque entreprise.
