유비파이가 벤처캐피탈 크릿벤처스와 NXC로부터 600억 원 규모의 신규 투자를 유치했다고 25일 밝혔다. 이번 투자 금액은 국내 드론 기업 단일 투자로는 역대 최대 규모다.
이번 투자는 글로벌 드론 산업 육성 경쟁이 심화되는 가운데, 유비파이가 보유한 군집비행 기술과 자율비행 플랫폼 등 원천 기술력과 글로벌 시장 확장 가능성을 높이 평가해 이뤄졌다.
서울대학교 항공우주공학 박사 출신 임현 대표가 창업한 유비파이는 설립 초기부터 해외 시장을 적극 공략해 왔다. 매출의 대부분을 해외에서 창출하고 있으며, 최근 국내 드론 기업 최초로 ‘천만불 수출의 탑’을 수상했다.
유비파이는 서울 한강에서 진행된 넷플릭스 케이팝 데몬 헌터스 드론쇼와 부산 광안리 M 드론 라이트쇼 등 대형 프로젝트를 수행했으며, 지드래곤과 블랙핑크 등 K팝 아티스트 관련 글로벌 드론쇼를 진행하며 엔터테인먼트용 군집 드론 시장에서 입지를 확대해 왔다.
기술 리더십 측면에서도 글로벌 영향력을 확보하고 있다. 유비파이는 드론 운영체제 PX4를 관장하는 Dronecode Foundation 이사회에 참여한 국내 유일 기업이다. 이를 기반으로 글로벌 드론 표준 설정 과정에 참여하고 있으며, 향후 정부가 추진하는 국방 드론 사업에도 기술을 적용할 계획이다.
또한 부산에서 열리는 아시아 최대 드론 전시회 DSK 2026에 참가해 핵심 부품 100% 국산화 목표를 제시하며 기술 자립에도 속도를 내고 있다.
임현 대표는 이번 투자 유치를 계기로 엔터테인먼트용 군집 드론 분야의 글로벌 리더십을 강화하고, 자율비행 기술과 피지컬 AI를 결합한 차세대 국방용 드론 분야로 사업 영역을 확대하겠다고 밝혔다.
투자를 주도한 크릿벤처스 측은 유비파이가 글로벌 시장에서 기술력과 사업화 역량을 입증한 기업이라며 향후 성장을 적극 지원하겠다고 밝혔다.

Ubiquitous Secures 60 Billion Won in Investment
Ubisoft announced on the 25th that it has secured 60 billion won in new investment from venture capital firms Crit Ventures and NXC. This investment represents the largest single investment ever made by a domestic drone company.
This investment was made in recognition of Ubiquitous' core technologies, including its swarm flight technology and autonomous flight platform, and its potential for global market expansion, amid intensifying competition to foster the global drone industry.
Founded by CEO Lim Hyeon, who holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Seoul National University, Ubiquitous has actively pursued overseas markets since its inception. The company generates the majority of its revenue from overseas markets and recently became the first Korean drone company to receive the "Ten Million Dollar Export Tower Award."
Ubisoft has carried out large-scale projects such as the Netflix K-pop Demon Hunters drone show held on the Han River in Seoul and the Gwangalli M drone light show in Busan, and has expanded its presence in the entertainment drone swarm market by conducting global drone shows related to K-pop artists such as G-Dragon and Blackpink.
Ubisoft is also securing global influence in terms of technological leadership. Ubisoft is the only Korean company to serve on the board of directors of the Dronecode Foundation, which oversees the PX4 drone operating system. Based on this foundation, Ubisoft is participating in the process of establishing global drone standards and plans to apply its technology to future government-sponsored defense drone projects.
In addition, the company is participating in DSK 2026, Asia's largest drone exhibition held in Busan, and is accelerating technological independence by presenting a goal of 100% domestic production of core components.
CEO Lim Hyeon stated that with this investment, the company will strengthen its global leadership in the entertainment swarm drone sector and expand its business into next-generation defense drones that combine autonomous flight technology and physical AI.
Crit Ventures, which led the investment, stated that Ubiquitous is a company that has proven its technological prowess and commercialization capabilities in the global market and that it will actively support its future growth.
