전력관리반도체 개발 기업인 라텔세미컨덕터가 울산창조경제혁신센터를 포함한 투자자들로부터 총 21억 원 규모의 시드 투자를 유치했다고 밝혔다. 또한, 회사는 울산창조경제혁신센터가 주도하는 중소벤처기업부 TIPS 프로그램에도 선정됐다.
박순구 대표는 대만 전력관리 반도체 1위 업체인 리치텍에서 사업부장으로 근무한 경험을 바탕으로 라텔세미컨덕터를 창업했다. 2023년 11월에 설립된 이 회사는 창립 1년 만에 사업 가능성을 투자조합과 다수의 개인 투자자로부터 인정받아 시드 투자라운드에서 총 21억 원을 유치했다.
또한, 라텔세미컨덕터는 2024년 12월 중소벤처기업부 TIPS 프로그램에 선정되어 최대 7억 원의 연구개발 자금을 확보했다. 같은 달에는 LG디스플레이의 스타트업 지원 및 협력 프로그램인 드림플레이(Dream Play) 7기에 선정되어 시제품 제작비 지원과 향후 사업화 연계 기회를 받게 되었다.
이번 투자와 지원 프로그램 선정을 바탕으로 라텔세미컨덕터는 제품 고도화와 시장 확대에 속도를 낼 계획이다. 회사는 2025년 상반기 내에 주요 디스플레이에 최적화된 전력관리반도체(PMIC) 4종을 출시할 예정이다. 특히, TIPS 선정 과제인 AI 노트북용 저소비전력 LED 드라이버 IC는 글로벌 소비 전력 절감을 목표로 한 제품으로, 라텔세미컨덕터의 세계 시장 진출을 이끄는 중요한 제품이 될 것으로 기대된다.

Ratel Semiconductor Secures KRW 2.1 Billion in Seed Investment
Ratel Semiconductor, a power management semiconductor developer, announced that it has secured a total of 2.1 billion won in seed funding from investors including the Ulsan Center for Creative Economy and Innovation. In the same month, it was selected for the 7th Dream Play program, LG Display's startup support and collaboration program, providing prototype production support and opportunities for future commercialization.
Building on this investment and selection for the support program, Ratel Semiconductor plans to accelerate product advancement and market expansion. The company plans to launch four power management integrated circuits (PMICs) optimized for major displays within the first half of 2025. In particular, the low-power LED driver IC for AI notebooks, a TIPS project, aims to reduce global power consumption and is expected to be a key product driving Ratel Semiconductor's global market expansion.
To address regional risks stemming from the US-China trade conflict, Ratel Semiconductor is focusing on securing a production network outside of China and Taiwan, and is receiving high expectations from domestic and international customers and investors. CEO Park Soon-koo stated, "This investment and selection for the TIPS program are recognition of Ratel Semiconductor's technological capabilities and business viability. Ratel Semiconductor, entreprise spécialisée dans le développement de semi-conducteurs pour la gestion de l'énergie, a annoncé avoir levé 2,1 milliards de wons en financement d'amorçage auprès d'investisseurs, dont le Centre d'Ulsan pour l'économie créative et l'innovation. Le PDG Park Soon-gu a fondé Ratel Semiconductor, s'appuyant sur son expérience de directeur de division chez Richtec, leader taïwanais des semi-conducteurs pour la gestion de l'énergie.
