스마트머신 토탈 솔루션 기반 머신 DX(디지털 전환) 전문 기업 엣지크로스(대표 백훈)는 산업 자동화 솔루션 전문가인 장승욱 전 오토콘 전무이사를 부사장으로 영입했다고 8일 밝혔다. 이번 영입으로 엣지크로스의 머신 DX 솔루션과 IoT 디바이스의 적용 분야를 확대하고 신규 시장 개척에 박차를 가할 계획이다.
슈나이더 일렉트릭 코리아에서 인더스트리얼 오토메이션 사업부 엔지니어링팀장으로 재직한 장 부사장은 자동차 분야와 자동화 사업부 OEM솔루션 영업 총괄을 거쳐 IIoT 플랫폼 사업 영업 및 기계설비(OEM) 부문의 사업을 담당했다. 이후 로크웰 오토메이션의 영·호남 공식 대리점인 오토콘의 전무이사를 역임하며 다양한 프로젝트를 이끌었다.
장 부사장은 엣지크로스에서 사업 확장과 더불어 기술 파트너사 네트워크 확충에 집중할 계획이다. 특히 엣지크로스의 솔루션이 PLC 및 다양한 컨트롤러와 연동되어 기계 제어를 자동화하고 데이터 기반의 AI 솔루션으로 확장할 수 있는 다양한 스마트머신 전환 기능을 갖춘 만큼, 장 부사장이 주요 산업군에 산업 자동화 어플리케이션을 적용해 온 경험을 바탕으로 엣지크로스의 머신 DX 적용 시장을 확대해 나간다는 전략이다.

한편 엣지크로스는 AIoT 플랫폼 기술을 기반으로 기존 기계를 스마트머신으로 전환하는 다양한 머신 DX 솔루션을 제공하고 있다. 특히 기계 데이터 수집에서 시작해 기계 원격제어, 기계 데이터 기반 AI 예지보전까지 통합적으로 나아가는 종합적인 제품 라인업을 통해 현장에서 즉시 적용할 수 있는 구체적인 스마트머신 솔루션을 적용하고 있다. 이달 22일부터 24일 일본 도쿄 빅사이트에서 열리는 넵콘 재팬(NEPCON Japan)에 참가하여 제품을 선보일 예정인 등 해외 진출에도 속도를 더하고 있다.

Edgecross (CEO Baek Hoon) , a company specializing in Machine DX (digital transformation) based on total smart machine solutions, announced on the 8th that it has hired Seungwook Jang, former Managing Director of Autocon and an expert in industrial automation solutions, as Vice President. With this appointment, Edgecross plans to expand the application areas of its Machine DX solutions and IoT devices and accelerate its efforts to pioneer new markets.
Vice President Jang, who previously served as Engineering Team Leader for the Industrial Automation Business Unit at Schneider Electric Korea, oversaw OEM solution sales for the automotive and automation divisions, and was responsible for IIoT platform sales and the mechanical equipment (OEM) division. He later served as Managing Director of Autocon, Rockwell Automation's official distributor in the Yeongnam and Honam regions, where he led various projects.
Vice President Jang plans to focus on expanding EdgeCross' business and expanding its network of technology partners. Specifically, EdgeCross' solutions integrate with PLCs and various controllers to automate machine control and offer a variety of smart machine transformation capabilities that can be expanded into data-driven AI solutions. Leveraging his experience in applying industrial automation applications across key industries, Vice President Jang aims to expand EdgeCross' Machine DX application market.

Meanwhile, EdgeCross offers a variety of machine DX solutions based on its AIoT platform technology, transforming existing machines into smart ones. Specifically, the company offers a comprehensive product lineup that integrates machine data collection, remote machine control, and machine data-based AI predictive maintenance, enabling specific smart machine solutions that can be immediately implemented in the field. The company is also accelerating its overseas expansion, with plans to showcase its products at NEPCON Japan, held at Tokyo Big Sight from the 22nd to the 24th of this month.
