에너지 기후테크 기업 엔라이튼(ENlighten, 대표 이영호)이 KT&G와 태양광 재생에너지 공급을 위한 직접 전력거래계약(Power Purchase Agreement, 이하 PPA)을 체결했다고 9일 밝혔다.
이번 계약은 현재 운영 중인 개인 발전사업자의 재생에너지를 KT&G에 공급하는 형태로, 국내 에너지 시장에서 중요한 의미를 가진다. 엔라이튼은 핵심 자산인 ‘발전왕’ 플랫폼의 데이터 및 IT 기술을 적극 활용해 KT&G의 에너지 수요에 최적화된 발전소를 선별하고, 신뢰성과 효율성을 극대화한 맞춤형 에너지 서비스를 제공하며 계약을 성공적으로 체결했다.
구체적으로 발전왕 플랫폼의 방대한 발전소 운영 데이터와 발전량 예측 기술을 활용해 발전소의 전력 공급 능력을 객관적으로 평가하고 분석함으로써 거래의 신뢰성을 확보했다. 또한 소규모 전력시장 운영 경험에서 축적한 자원 관리 및 정산 노하우를 PPA 운영에 적극 활용해, KT&G가 안정적이고 경제적인 방식으로 재생에너지를 사용할 수 있도록 지원한다.
이번 계약으로 엔라이튼은 오는 2월 1일부터 20년간 KT&G에 약 5MW 규모의 재생에너지를 공급할 예정이다. 이를 통해 KT&G는 SBTi로부터 승인받은 ‘2030 온실가스 감축 및 2045 넷제로(Net-Zero) 목표’를 실현하며, 탄소중립 실현과 동시에 경제적이고 안정적인 전력 소비 모델을 구축할 것으로 기대된다.
최근 산업 전반에서 재생에너지 도입 수요가 급증하는 가운데, 엔라이튼은 발전왕 플랫폼을 통해 국내 등록 발전소 중 약 27% 이상을 확보하며 재생에너지 공급망의 핵심 역할을 하고 있다. 특히 발전소 운영 데이터를 정밀하게 분석하여 기업 맞춤형 재생에너지 공급 계획을 수립하는 데이터 기반 접근법은 엔라이튼의 차별화된 경쟁력을 부각시키는 핵심 요소다.
한편 엔라이튼은 이번 KT&G와의 계약에 앞서 현대자동차와의 PPA 계약을 성공적으로 체결한 바 있다. 이처럼 일반 발전사업자의 재생에너지를 선별하여 기업에 공급하는 PPA 계약을 연이어 성사시키며, 국내 재생에너지 거래 시장에서 신뢰할 수 있는 거래 주체로 자리 잡고 있다.

Enlighten Signs Direct Power Transaction Agreement with KT&G
Energy and climate tech company ENlighten (CEO Youngho Lee) announced on the 9th that it has signed a direct power purchase agreement (PPA) with KT&G for the supply of solar renewable energy.
This contract, which will supply renewable energy from an existing private power generation company to KT&G, holds significant significance in the domestic energy market. Enlighten leveraged the data and IT capabilities of its core asset, the "Power Generation King" platform, to select power plants optimized for KT&G's energy needs and successfully concluded the contract by providing customized energy services that maximize reliability and efficiency.
Specifically, the Power Generation King platform leverages extensive power plant operation data and power generation forecasting technology to objectively evaluate and analyze power plants' power supply capabilities, thereby ensuring transaction reliability. Furthermore, the company actively leverages its resource management and settlement expertise, accumulated through experience operating small-scale power markets, to operate PPAs, supporting KT&G's stable and economical use of renewable energy.
Under this contract, Enlighten will supply approximately 5MW of renewable energy to KT&G for 20 years, starting February 1. This will help KT&G achieve its 2030 greenhouse gas reduction and 2045 net-zero goals, approved by the SBTi, while simultaneously achieving carbon neutrality and establishing an economical and stable power consumption model.
Amidst the recent surge in demand for renewable energy across industries, Enlighten is playing a key role in the renewable energy supply chain, securing over 27% of registered power plants in Korea through its Power Generation King platform. In particular, its data-driven approach, which precisely analyzes power plant operating data to develop customized renewable energy supply plans for businesses, is a key element that differentiates Enlighten from its competitors.
Meanwhile, prior to this contract with KT&G, Enlighten successfully concluded a PPA agreement with Hyundai Motor Company. By securing a series of PPA contracts, which select renewable energy from general power generation companies and supply it to companies, Enlighten has established itself as a trusted trading partner in the domestic renewable energy market.
“Enlighten is accelerating renewable energy transactions through optimized energy services based on data analysis and IT technology,” said Enlighten CEO Lee Young-ho. “We will continue to maximize the efficiency of the renewable energy supply chain and dedicate ourselves to technological innovation and service development so that companies can quickly and stably achieve their carbon neutrality goals.”

Ce contrat, qui prévoit la fourniture d'énergie renouvelable à KT&G par une entreprise privée de production d'électricité existante, revêt une importance considérable sur le marché énergétique national. Par ailleurs, l'entreprise met activement à profit son expertise en gestion des ressources et en règlement, acquise grâce à son expérience sur les marchés de l'électricité à petite échelle, pour gérer des contrats d'achat d'électricité (CAE), contribuant ainsi à une utilisation stable et économique des énergies renouvelables par KT&G.
Aux termes de ce contrat, Enlighten fournira environ 5 MW d'énergie renouvelable à KT&G pendant 20 ans, à compter du 1er février. Cela aidera KT&G à atteindre ses objectifs de réduction des gaz à effet de serre pour 2030 et de neutralité carbone pour 2045, approuvés par le SBTi, tout en atteignant la neutralité carbone et en établissant un modèle de consommation d'énergie économique et stable.
Face à la forte demande d'énergies renouvelables dans tous les secteurs, Enlighten joue un rôle clé dans la chaîne d'approvisionnement, en sécurisant plus de 27 % des centrales électriques enregistrées en Corée grâce à sa plateforme Power Generation King. Son approche axée sur les données, qui analyse avec précision les données d'exploitation des centrales pour élaborer des plans d'approvisionnement en énergies renouvelables personnalisés pour les entreprises, est un atout majeur qui la distingue de ses concurrents.
Parallèlement, avant ce contrat avec KT&G, Enlighten avait conclu avec succès un accord d'achat d'électricité (PPA) avec Hyundai Motor Company.
