에어비앤비는 1월 17일 국내 중장기 숙박 서비스 플랫폼인 미스터멘션과 (사)외국인관광도시민박업협회(이하 외도민협회)와 협력 강화를 위한 3자 간 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다. 협약식에는 김승범 에어비앤비 코리아 정책총괄, 정성준 미스터멘션 대표, 채보영 외도민협회장 등이 참석했다.
이번 협약에 따라 세 기관은 ▲관련 법령에 따른 영업신고 등 안전하고 신뢰도 높은 숙박 환경 조성 ▲올바른 공유숙박 운영을 위한 숙소 운영자 교육 ▲내국인 차별 해소 및 실거주 의무 완화 등 공유숙박 정책 발전을 위한 다양한 분야에서 협력할 예정이다.
에어비앤비와 미스터멘션은 이번 협약을 통해 공유숙박의 신뢰도를 높이고 호스트들의 판매 기회를 확대하는 데 협력하며, 이를 통해 국내 공유숙박 활성화와 저변 확대를 목표로 한다. 외도민협회는 숙소 현장 점검과 호스트 교육 등을 지원하고, 건강하고 건전한 공유숙박 생태계 조성에 기여할 계획이다.
김승범 에어비앤비 코리아 정책총괄은 “에어비앤비는 영업신고증 제출 의무화 정책을 통해 공유숙박의 신뢰도를 높이는 데 힘쓰고 있다”며, “이번 협약을 통해 국내 업체와의 상생과 발전을 도모하고, 3,000만 외래 관광객 유치에 기여할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
