서울대학교기술지주와 시리즈벤처스가 공동운용(Co-GP) 형태로 ‘부산 미래성장 벤처펀드 2024’의 지역리그 액셀러레이터(AC) 분야 운용사로 최종 선정됐다. 두 기관은 28일 오후 부산 KDB산업은행에서 ‘부산지역혁신 티브스 투자조합 1호’ 결성총회를 개최하며, 본 펀드를 통해 부산 지역 스타트업과 벤처기업 육성에 본격적으로 나설 계획이다.
이번 선정은 부산광역시와 한국벤처투자(KVIC)가 지역 기반 벤처 투자 활성화를 위해 추진한 ‘부산 미래성장 벤처펀드 2024’ 출자사업의 일환으로, 중소벤처기업부, 부산시, KDB산업은행, BNK금융지주 등으로 결성된 모태펀드 ‘부산 미래성장 벤처펀드’를 활용해 조성된 펀드로 의미가 크다.
서울대학교기술지주는 대학 연구 성과의 사업화를 주도하는 기술지주회사로, 기술 기반 스타트업의 성장 지원에 특화되어 있다. 2008년 설립 이후 14개 펀드를 조성하고 약 1200억 원을 운용 중이다. 시리즈벤처스는 동남권을 기반으로 활동하는 대표적인 액셀러레이터로, 초기 스타트업 발굴 및 투자에 강점을 보이고 있다. 이번 협력은 부산 지역의 혁신 기술 기업과 대학 기술 기반 스타트업이 동시에 성장할 수 있는 투자 구조를 마련할 것으로 기대된다.
서울대기술지주 관계자는 “대학이 보유한 기술이 실질적인 산업적 가치로 이어질 수 있도록 기술 창업과 연구 성과 사업화 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”며, “이번 펀드를 통해 부산을 기술 기반 스타트업 허브로 성장시키는 데 기여할 계획”이라고 밝혔다.
시리즈벤처스 관계자는 “이번 펀드는 단순한 투자 지원을 넘어, 부산 지역의 창업 생태계를 글로벌 수준으로 끌어올리는 데 중요한 역할을 할 것”이라며, “유망 기업을 발굴하고 지속적인 후속 투자까지 이어질 수 있도록 적극적으로 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
