무인이동체 자율군집제어 전문기업 파블로항공(대표이사 김영준)은 자사의 불꽃드론 ‘PabloX F40’가 iF 디자인 어워드 2025 제품 부문에서 본상(Winner)을 받았다고 5일 밝혔다.
독일 인터내셔널포럼이 주관하는 iF 디자인 어워드는 ‘레드닷 디자인 어워드’, ‘IDEA’와 함께 3대 디자인상으로 꼽히는 권위 있는 국제 디자인 어워드이다. 올해는 66개국에서 약 1만 1천 여개의 작품을 출품했다.
치열한 경쟁을 뚫고 수상한 ‘PabloX F40’는 파블로항공의 공연용 불꽃드론으로 LED라이트와 불꽃 연출을 동시에 구현할 수 있는 모델로, 향후 국방 분야와 항공기 외관점검 분야로도 확장이 가능한 드론이다. 정확한 속도와 군집 제어를 가능하게 하기 위해 무게를 줄여 비행시간을 연장하면서 시스템의 효율성과 안정성을 높였다. 견고하고 독특한 컨셉의 차별화된 디자인은 ▲차별성 ▲기능 ▲아이디어 ▲영향력 ▲형태 등 모든 평가 항목에서 고르게 높은 점수를 기록하며 수상의 영예를 안았다.
PabloX F 시리즈는 미국 연방항공청(FAA)의 비행 승인을 받아 해외에서도 활발히 운용 중이다. 특히 파블로항공은 지난해부터 미국에서 F40의 판매를 시작하며 불꽃드론쇼 글로벌 시장에서 본격적으로 입지를 다지고 있다. 지난해 9월 LA 다저스 스타디움 드론쇼를 성공적으로 마친 이후, LA 메모리얼 스타디움 Cai show, 넷플릭스 RAM 드론쇼, 시애틀 스페이스 니들 새해 카운트다운 행사 등 미국 주요 이벤트에 연이어 참여하기도 했다.
PabloX F40의 제품디자인을 총괄한 이시온 파블로항공 리드는 “F40은 반딧불이처럼 군집 비행을 통해 유기적인 움직임으로 하늘을 수놓는 모델로, 성능과 디자인의 완벽한 균형을 추구했다”며, “이번 iF 디자인 어워드 수상은 PabloX F40이 가진 혁신성과 디자인 우수성을 세계적으로 인정받은 결과”라고 수상 소감을 밝혔다.
한편 파블로항공은 자율 군집드론 운용의 핵심인 군집조율(Swarm Coordination) 기술 중심의 연구개발 및 사업 확장을 통해 기업 경쟁력을 강화하고 있다. 지난달에는 방위산업 분야에 본격적으로 진출, DSK 2025에서 차세대 ‘군사용 군집드론 전투체계’와 공격용 드론 ‘PabloM S10s’을 공개하기도 했다. 이외에도 군집드론 기술을 고도화해 나가며 항공기 외관 점검, 시설 안전 감시와 같은 상업 및 공공분야로 사업을 확장할 예정이다.

Pablo Aviation's Fire Drone Wins iF Design Award
Pablo Aviation (CEO Kim Young-jun), a company specializing in autonomous swarm control of unmanned vehicles, announced on the 5th that its flame drone 'PabloX F40' won the grand prize (Winner) in the product category of the iF Design Award 2025.

Meanwhile, Pablo Aviation is strengthening its corporate competitiveness through R&D and business expansion centered on swarm coordination technology, which is the core of autonomous swarm drone operation. Last month, it made a full-fledged entry into the defense industry, unveiling the next-generation 'military swarm drone combat system' and the attack drone 'PabloM S10s' at DSK 2025. In addition, it plans to further advance swarm drone technology and expand its business to commercial and public sectors such as aircraft exterior inspection and facility safety surveillance.
