삼성스팩9호와의 합병을 추진 중인 케이지에이(KGA)가 코윈테크, 탑머티리얼 등 관계사와 협업을 확대하며 전고체 배터리를 포함한 차세대 이차전지 사업 경쟁력을 더욱 강화할 계획이라고 6일 밝혔다.
탑머티리얼은 이차전지 소재부터 시스템 생산공정 설계 등의 사업을 전문으로 영위하는 회사로, 코윈테크와 케이지에이는 탑머티리얼과 이차전지 공정 장비 분야에서 사업적 시너지를 내고 있다. 특히, 3사는 공고한 지분 관계를 바탕으로 긴밀한 협력을 이어오고 있다.
케이지에이가 국내 이차전지 장비 회사 중 가장 많은 글로벌 고객사 풀을 확보할 수 있었던 데에는 두 회사의 역할이 컸다. 케이지에이는 탑머티리얼의 시스템엔지니어링 사업 내 전극 공정 장비 부문 핵심 파트너사로, 양사는 컨소시엄 형태로 다양한 프로젝트에 함께 참여해 다수의 수주 성과를 올린 바 있다.
탑머티리얼은 최근 ‘나노라믹 레보러터리즈(이하 나노라믹)’ 등 차세대 글로벌 배터리 스타트업에 대한 투자도 단행하며 시장 내 영향력을 더욱 확대해 가고 있다. 관계사의 강화된 시장 영향력 하에 추가 수혜가 예상된다는 게 회사 측의 설명이다.
실제 탑머티리얼이 최근 루마니아에서 최대 약 1조 2000억원 규모의 대형 양극재 및 소재 공급 프로젝트를 수주한 가운데, 해당 발주처가 탑머티리얼과 배터리 분야에서도 생산능력(CAPA) 확대를 위한 증설을 논의 중으로, 이 과정에서 케이지에이의 추가 수주가 기대되고 있다.
케이지에이 관계자는 “3사는 단순한 지분 관계를 넘어 국내 이차전지 산업 경쟁력을 함께 강화해 나가는 전략적 파트너”라며 “앞으로도 지속적인 협업을 통해 기술력과 글로벌 네트워크를 더욱 확대하고, 차세대 배터리 시장에서 핵심 플레이어로 자리매김할 것”이라고 강조했다.
한편 케이지에이는 경기도 평택 브레인시티에 대규모 신공장 설립을 추진 중이다. 케이지에이는 신공장을 통해 코터, 롤프레스, 슬리터 등 전극 공정 장비의 제작 CAPA를 늘릴 예정이다. 현재 탑머티리얼 역시 같은 지역에서 대규모 LFP(리튬인산철) 양극재 제조공장을 건설 중으로 완공 후, 클러스터 내 강력한 시너지 효과가 발생할 것으로 양사는 기대 중이다.

KGA collaborates with Cowintech and Top Material
KGA, which is currently pursuing a merger with Samsung SPEC No. 9, announced on the 6th that it plans to further strengthen its competitiveness in the next-generation secondary battery business, including all -solid- state batteries, by expanding collaboration with affiliates such as Cowintech and Top Material.
Top Material is a company specializing in secondary battery materials and system production process design, and Cowintech and KGA are creating business synergy with Top Material in the secondary battery process equipment sector. In particular, the three companies are continuing close cooperation based on a solid equity relationship.
The two companies played a major role in helping KGA secure the largest pool of global customers among domestic secondary battery equipment companies. KGA is a key partner in the electrode process equipment sector of Top Material’s system engineering business, and the two companies have participated in various projects together in the form of a consortium and achieved numerous orders.
Top Material is also expanding its influence in the market by investing in next-generation global battery startups such as ‘Nanoramic Laboratories (hereinafter referred to as ‘Nanoramic’). The company explains that additional benefits are expected under the strengthened market influence of its affiliates.
In fact, Top Material recently won a large-scale cathode material and material supply project worth up to KRW 1.2 trillion in Romania, and the ordering party is currently discussing with Top Material to expand production capacity (CAPA) in the battery sector, and additional orders from KAIST are expected in the process.
A KGA official emphasized, “The three companies are strategic partners who will go beyond a simple equity relationship and work together to strengthen the competitiveness of the domestic secondary battery industry,” and “Through continued collaboration, we will further expand our technological prowess and global network and establish ourselves as key players in the next-generation battery market.”
Meanwhile, KG A is pushing forward with the construction of a large-scale new factory in Brain City, Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province. KG A plans to increase the production capacity of electrode process equipment such as coaters, roll presses, and slitters through the new factory. Top Material is also currently constructing a large-scale LFP (lithium iron phosphate) cathode material manufacturing plant in the same area, and both companies expect that after completion, a strong synergy effect will be generated within the cluster.

一方、ケージエイは京畿道平沢ブレインシティに大規模新工場設立を推進している。ケージエイは新工場を通じてコーター、ロールプレス、スリッターなど電極工程装置の製作ＣＡＰＡを増やす予定だ。現在、トップマテリアルも同じ地域で大規模LFP（リチウムリン酸鉄）陽極材製造工場を建設中に完工した後、クラスター内に強力な相乗効果が発生すると両社は期待中だ。

KGA 与 Cowintech 和 Top Material 合作

与此同时，KGAE正在推进位于京畿道平泽市Brain City的大型新工厂的建设。通过新工厂，KGAE 计划提高其电极加工设备（如涂布机、辊压机和分切机）的生产能力。目前，拓普材料也正在同一地区建设大型LFP（磷酸铁锂）正极材料制造工厂，两家公司都预计，建成后将在集群内产生强大的协同效应。

Pendant ce temps, KGAE avance dans la construction d'une nouvelle usine à grande échelle à Brain City, Pyeongtaek, province du Gyeonggi. Grâce à la nouvelle usine, KGAE prévoit d'augmenter sa capacité de production d'équipements de traitement d'électrodes tels que les enrobeuses, les presses à rouleaux et les refendeuses. Actuellement, Top Material construit également une usine de fabrication de matériaux cathodiques LFP (phosphate de fer lithium) à grande échelle dans la même région, et les deux sociétés s'attendent à ce qu'une fois le projet terminé, un fort effet de synergie soit créé au sein du cluster.
