서울바이오허브는 셀트리온과 ‘글로벌 오픈 이노베이션(개방형 혁신)’에 대한 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
이번 협약의 주요 목표는 서울바이오허브와 셀트리온이 함께 혁신적인 기술을 보유한 해외 바이오의료 기업을 발굴하고, 이들 기업이 오픈 이노베이션 기반의 기술협력을 통해 한국 시장에 성공적으로 진입할 수 있도록 지원하는 것이다.
두 기관은 최종적으로 선정된 해외 기업에 대해 기술 고도화와 국내 시장 진출을 위한 다양한 기회를 제공할 예정이다. 셀트리온은 신약 연구개발(R&D) 부서를 통해 선정 기업의 연구 성과를 모니터링하고, 글로벌 연구 동향 및 연구 전략 등 맞춤형 R&D 멘토링을 체계적으로 제공할 계획이다. 서울바이오허브는 선정된 해외 기업의 국내 비즈니스 활성화를 위해 입주공간과 공용 실험실을 제공하는 한편, 국내외 액셀러레이터(AC) 및 벤처캐피탈(VC)과 연계한 투자 기회를 마련하고, 대학과 병원 등 비즈니스 네트워크를 지원하여 빠른 국내 성공을 돕는다.
해외 기업 선발은 셀트리온의 사업 및 연구 영역과 시너지를 낼 수 있는 기업을 우선 선정하며, 주요 분야로는 ▲새로운 항체 기반 치료기술 ▲저분자(Small Molecule) 기술 ▲약물 전달 시스템(DDS) ▲새로운 치료적 접근법(모달리티) 등이 포함된다. 셀트리온과 서울바이오허브는 1차 심사를 통해 올해 10개의 유망 기업을 발굴하고, 내년에는 최종 2개 기업을 선정할 계획이다.
서울바이오허브는 본 사업을 성공적으로 운영하기 위해 해외 현지에서 프로그램을 홍보하고, 셀트리온과 연구 협력 가능성이 높은 스타트업을 발굴하기 위해 전문 수행기관을 선발할 예정이다.
서울바이오허브 사업단의 김현우 단장은 “셀트리온과의 협력은 서울바이오허브가 글로벌 바이오 창업 생태계의 중요한 거점으로 도약하는 데 큰 기여할 것”이라며, “이번 글로벌 오픈 이노베이션을 통해 해외 우수 스타트업들을 국내에 유치하는 첫 사례가 될 수 있도록 최선을 다해 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

Seoul Bio Hub Signs Business Agreement with Celltrion
Seoul Biohub announced that it signed a business agreement with Celltrion for ‘Global Open Innovation.’
The main goal of this agreement is for Seoul Bio Hub and Celltrion to discover overseas biomedical companies with innovative technologies and support their successful entry into the Korean market through open innovation-based technological cooperation.
The two organizations will provide various opportunities for technological advancement and domestic market entry to the selected overseas companies. Celltrion plans to monitor the research performance of the selected companies through its new drug research and development (R&D) department and systematically provide customized R&D mentoring on global research trends and research strategies. Seoul Bio Hub will provide office space and shared laboratories to activate the domestic business of the selected overseas companies, while also providing investment opportunities in connection with domestic and international accelerators (AC) and venture capitals (VC), and supporting business networks such as universities and hospitals to help them achieve rapid domestic success.
The selection of overseas companies will be given priority to companies that can create synergy with Celltrion’s business and research areas, and the main areas include ▲new antibody-based treatment technology ▲small molecule technology ▲drug delivery system (DDS) ▲new therapeutic approaches (modalities). Celltrion and Seoul Biohub plan to discover 10 promising companies this year through the first screening and select the final two companies next year.
In order to successfully operate this project, Seoul Bio Hub plans to select a specialized implementing agency to promote the program overseas and discover startups with high potential for research collaboration with Celltrion.
Kim Hyun-woo, head of the Seoul Bio Hub Business Group, said, “The collaboration with Celltrion will greatly contribute to Seoul Bio Hub’s advancement into an important base for the global bio startup ecosystem,” and added, “We will do our best to support this global open innovation so that it can become the first case of attracting excellent overseas startups to Korea.”

Seoul Biohub a annoncé avoir signé un accord commercial avec Celltrion pour « l'innovation ouverte mondiale ».
L'objectif principal de cet accord est que Seoul Bio Hub et Celltrion découvrent des entreprises biomédicales étrangères dotées de technologies innovantes et soutiennent leur entrée réussie sur le marché coréen grâce à une coopération technologique basée sur l'innovation ouverte.
Les deux organisations offriront diverses opportunités de progrès technologique et d’entrée sur le marché intérieur aux entreprises étrangères finalement sélectionnées. Celltrion prévoit de surveiller les performances de recherche des entreprises sélectionnées par le biais de son nouveau département de recherche et développement (R&D) de médicaments et de fournir systématiquement un mentorat R&D personnalisé, y compris les tendances de recherche mondiales et les stratégies de recherche. Seoul Bio Hub fournit à des entreprises étrangères sélectionnées des bureaux et des laboratoires partagés pour les aider à activer leurs activités nationales, tout en offrant des opportunités d'investissement en collaboration avec des accélérateurs nationaux et internationaux (AC) et des capitaux-risqueurs (VC), et en soutenant des réseaux d'entreprises tels que des universités et des hôpitaux pour les aider à atteindre un succès national rapide.
