스타트업 초기투자 전문 액셀러레이터(AC)인 씨엔티테크(CNTTECH)는 지난 24일 드레이퍼 스타트업 하우스 코리아(Draper Startup House Korea)와 글로벌 스타트업 발굴 및 육성을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
씨엔티테크는 5년 연속 국내 최다 스타트업 투자 실적을 보유한 액셀러레이터로, 지난해에만 117건, 215억 원을 스타트업에 투자하며 연간 최대 실적을 달성했다.
씨엔티테크는 이번 협약을 통해 드레이퍼 스타트업 하우스가 보유한 전 세계 20개국, 35개 지점의 글로벌 네트워크를 적극 활용하여 보육 기업들의 해외 진출(아웃바운드)과 투자 유치, 인큐베이션 지원을 한층 강화할 계획이다.
이날 협약식에는 전화성 씨엔티테크 대표, 이태린 이사, 조현승 글로벌AC팀 팀장 등 씨엔티테크 주요 관계자와 드레이퍼 스타트업 하우스 코리아 이세용 대표가 참석해 양 기관 의 전략적 협력 방안을 논의했다.
‘드레이퍼 스타트업 하우스 코리아’는 실리콘밸리의 전설적인 벤처투자자 팀 드레이퍼(Tim Draper)가 설립한 DFJ(Draper Fisher Jurvetson)의 자회사로, 전 세계 유망 스타트업을 발굴·육성하는 글로벌 인큐베이팅 허브다. 팀 드레이퍼는 핫메일, 스카이프, 테슬라, 스페이스X, 바이두, 트위터 등 세계적 기업에 대한 초기 투자로 잘 알려져 있으며, 현재도 글로벌 스타트업 생태계 활성화에 기여하고 있다. 특히, 한국 내 창업경진대회 개최와 Draper University 분교 유치를 추진 중이다.
이번 MOU를 통해 양사는 ▲스타트업 글로벌 진출 및 투자 연계 확대 ▲전문가 네트워크를 통한 창업기업 발굴·육성 ▲글로벌 경진대회 및 프로그램 공동 주관 ▲펀드(Co-GP) 결성을 통한 공동 투자 네트워크 조성 ▲북미, 아시아·태평양, 싱가포르 시장 진출 가속화 등 실질적인 협력 방안을 단계적으로 추진할 예정이다.
전화성 씨엔티테크 대표는 “이번 협약은 한국 스타트업의 글로벌 진출을 촉진하는 중요한 전환점이 될 것”이라며, “씨엔티테크의 보육 역량과 드레이퍼 스타트업 하우스의 글로벌 네트워크를 결합해 더 많은 스타트업이 세계 시장에서 경쟁력을 갖출 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
드레이퍼 스타트업 하우스 코리아 이세용 대표 역시 “씨엔티테크와의 협력을 통해 한국 유망 스타트업들이 실리콘밸리를 비롯한 글로벌 무대에서 더 많은 기회를 얻을 것으로 기대한다”며 “양사의 강점을 바탕으로 투자, 육성, 글로벌 네트워킹 전반에 걸쳐 가시적인 성과를 만들어 나가겠다”고 전했다.
양 기관은 향후 스타트업 공동 발굴, 투자 유치 지원, 글로벌 데모데이 개최 등 다양한 협력 사업을 통해 글로벌 스타트업 생태계 조성에 박차를 가할 계획이다.

CNT Tech Signs Business Agreement with Draper Startup House
CNTTECH, an accelerator (AC) specializing in early-stage startup investments, announced on the 24th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with Draper Startup House Korea to discover and foster global startups.
CNT Tech is the accelerator with the largest number of startup investments in Korea for five consecutive years, and last year alone, it achieved its highest annual performance by investing 21.5 billion won in 117 startups.
Through this agreement, CNT Tech plans to actively utilize Draper Startup House’s global network of 35 branches in 20 countries around the world to further strengthen support for outbound expansion, investment attraction, and incubation of incubation companies.

Tim Draper is well known for his early investments in global companies such as Hotmail, Skype, Tesla, SpaceX, Baidu, and Twitter, and is currently contributing to the activation of the global startup ecosystem. In particular, he is promoting the hosting of startup competitions in Korea and the attraction of a Draper University branch.
Through this MOU, the two companies plan to gradually pursue practical cooperation plans, including ▲ expanding global expansion and investment connections for startups ▲ discovering and nurturing startups through a network of experts ▲ co-hosting global competitions and programs ▲ creating a joint investment network through the formation of a fund (Co-GP) ▲ accelerating entry into the North American, Asia-Pacific, and Singapore markets.
“This agreement will be a significant turning point in promoting the global expansion of Korean startups,” said CNT Tech CEO Jeon Hwa-seong. “By combining CNT Tech’s incubation capabilities and Draper Startup House’s global network, we will actively support more startups to become competitive in the global market.”
Draper Startup House Korea CEO Lee Se-yong also said, “Through our collaboration with CNT Tech, we expect that promising Korean startups will have more opportunities on the global stage, including Silicon Valley,” adding, “Based on the strengths of both companies, we will create tangible results across the board in investment, nurturing, and global networking.”
The two organizations plan to spur the creation of a global startup ecosystem through various cooperative projects in the future, such as joint startup discovery, support for attracting investment, and hosting a global demo day.
