㈜엘리스그룹이 한국과학기술정보연구원(KISTI, 원장 이식)과 국가데이터교환노드(NDeX) 및 AI 인프라, 데이터센터 운영 및 연구 분야에서의 협력을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 30일 밝혔다.
KISTI는 국가과학기술연구망(KREONET)과 국가데이터교환노드(NDeX)를 기반으로 대규모 과학 데이터의 전송 및 공유를 지원하는 기관으로, 공공과 민간의 데이터 연계 및 활용을 위한 초고속 네트워크 인프라를 운영하고 있다. 국가데이터교환노드는 기존 인터넷 기반 데이터 전송의 한계를 극복하고, 고성능 데이터 교환을 가능하게 하기 위한 목적으로 KISTI가 2023년부터 본격적으로 운영 중이다.
엘리스그룹은 모듈형 AI 데이터센터(PMDC)를 기반으로 AI 특화 클라우드 서비스를 제공하는 클라우드 서비스 사업자(CSP)로, 올해 2월 공공기관 대상 서비스 제공을 위한 클라우드 보안 인증(CSAP IaaS)을 획득한 바 있다. 특히 AI 서비스와 관련 소프트웨어, 인프라, 하드웨어까지 독자적으로 개발할 수 있는 역량을 갖추고 있어 이번 협약의 협력 파트너로 선정됐다.
양 기관은 이번 협약을 통해 △국내 소버린 AI 연구개발 역량 강화를 위한 네트워크 및 인프라 협력 △대규모 AI 모델 개발을 위한 민관 컴퓨팅 자원 연계 △공동 관심 분야에서의 융복합 연구 추진 등 다양한 분야에서의 협력을 약속했다.
조부승 KISTI 과학기술연구망센터장은 “디지털 기반 국가 혁신을 위해 공공과 민간 간의 경계를 허물고 데이터 및 AI 자원의 연결을 확대하는 것이 중요하다”며 “이번 협력을 통해 AI 및 고성능 컴퓨팅 분야의 민관 생태계 조성에 실질적인 기여를 할 것으로 기대한다”고 밝혔다.
엘리스그룹 김재원 대표는 “엘리스의 AI 클라우드 인프라가 다양한 연구기관의 데이터 공유 기반 마련에 기여할 수 있기를 바란다”며 “앞으로도 공공기관과의 협력을 통해 AI 인프라 분야에서 실질적인 성과를 만들어 나가겠다”고 말했다.

Ellis Group Signs Business Agreement with Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information
Ellis Group announced on the 30th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI, President Lee Sik) for cooperation in the fields of National Data Exchange Node (NDeX), AI infrastructure, data center operation, and research.
KISTI is an organization that supports the transmission and sharing of large-scale scientific data based on the Korea Research Era Network (KREONET) and the National Data Exchange Node (NDeX), and operates an ultra-high-speed network infrastructure for data linkage and utilization between the public and private sectors. The National Data Exchange Node is being operated by KISTI in earnest since 2023 to overcome the limitations of existing Internet-based data transmission and enable high-performance data exchange.
Ellis Group is a cloud service provider (CSP) that provides AI-specific cloud services based on a modular AI data center (PMDC). In February of this year, it obtained cloud security certification (CSAP IaaS) for providing services to public institutions. In particular, it was selected as a cooperative partner for this agreement because it has the ability to independently develop software, infrastructure, and hardware related to AI services.
Through this agreement, the two organizations promised cooperation in various fields, including △network and infrastructure cooperation to strengthen domestic sovereign AI research and development capabilities, △linking public-private computing resources for large-scale AI model development, and △promoting convergence research in areas of common interest.
Cho Boo-seung, director of the KISTI Science and Technology Research Network Center, said, “In order to achieve digital-based national innovation, it is important to break down the barriers between the public and private sectors and expand the connection of data and AI resources,” adding, “We expect this collaboration to make a practical contribution to creating a public-private ecosystem in the fields of AI and high-performance computing.”
Kim Jae-won, CEO of Ellis Group, said, “We hope that Ellis’ AI cloud infrastructure can contribute to establishing a data sharing foundation for various research institutes,” and “We will continue to produce tangible results in the AI infrastructure field through cooperation with public institutions.”

エリスグループキム・ジェウォン代表は「エリスのAIクラウドインフラが多様な研究機関のデータ共有基盤づくりに貢献できることを願う」とし「今後も公共機関との協力を通じてAIインフラ分野で実質的な成果を作っていく」と話した。

Le nœud national d'échange de données est pleinement opérationnel auprès du KISTI depuis 2023 dans le but de surmonter les limites de la transmission de données existante sur Internet et de permettre un échange de données haute performance.
Ellis Group est un fournisseur de services cloud (CSP) qui fournit des services cloud spécifiques à l'IA basés sur un centre de données d'IA modulaire (PMDC). En février de cette année, elle a obtenu la certification de sécurité cloud (CSAP IaaS) pour fournir des services aux institutions publiques. En particulier, elle a été sélectionnée comme partenaire pour cet accord car elle a la capacité de développer de manière indépendante des services d’IA et des logiciels, infrastructures et matériels associés.
