화성특례시가 유망 스타트업의 글로벌 시장 진출을 본격 지원한다. 화성산업진흥원(원장 전병선)은 글로벌 진출을 목표로 하는 관내 유망 스타트업을 대상으로 ‘2025년도 글로벌 스타트업 이륙작전’ 참여기업을 오는 5월 21일까지 모집한다고 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 AI 기반 기술 고도화 및 글로벌 오픈이노베이션을 통한 스케일업을 목표로, 화성특례시 소재 스타트업 8개사를 선발해 단계별 글로벌 액셀러레이팅 프로그램과 최대 1,500만 원의 창업 성장자금을 제공한다. 특히, 선발 기업은 미국, 독일, 핀란드, 싱가포르, 말레이시아 등 주요 글로벌 시장에서 운영되는 현지 프로그램(▲글로벌 데모데이 ▲오픈이노베이션 매칭 ▲글로벌 네트워킹 ▲IR 피칭 등)에 직접 참가할 수 있는 기회를 얻게 된다.
또한 이번 사업은 단순한 해외 진출 지원을 넘어 ▲AI 기반 기술 고도화 멘토링 ▲글로벌 VC·CVC 연계 투자 기회 ▲해외 대·중견기업 오픈이노베이션 프로그램 ▲맞춤형 해외 진출 전략 수립 컨설팅 등 스타트업 실질적인 글로벌 성장 로드맵을 제공하는 것이 특징이다.
올해 프로그램은 글로벌 전문 액셀러레이터 ‘노틸러스인베스트먼트’가 운영을 맡아 해외 현지 연계와 실질적 성과 창출을 목표로 한다. 아울러 우수 참여기업에는 향후 화성특례시 직접투자 및 추가 글로벌 진출 지원도 연계할 계획이다.
지원 대상은 화성특례시 내 본사, 공장 또는 연구소를 보유한 스타트업으로, 업력 7년 이내(단, 신산업 분야는 10년 이내) 기업이면 모두 신청할 수 있다. AI, 바이오헬스, 그린테크, 스마트 모빌리티 등 글로벌 확장성이 높은 분야의 스타트업을 특히 환영한다.
전병선 화성산업진흥원장은 “이번 글로벌 스타트업 이륙작전 사업을 통해 화성특례시 스타트업들이 AI 기술 기반의 글로벌 기업으로 도약할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”며 “유망 스타트업들의 많은 관심과 참여를 부탁 드린다”고 전했다.

Hwaseong Special City is fully supporting promising startups to enter the global market. Hwaseong Industrial Promotion Agency (Director Jeon Byeong-seon) announced that it will recruit participating companies for the '2025 Global Startup Takeoff Operation' targeting promising startups in the city aiming to enter the global market until May 21.
This project aims to advance AI-based technologies and scale up through global open innovation, and will select eight startups located in Hwaseong Special City to provide a step-by-step global acceleration program and up to 15 million won in startup growth funds. In particular, the selected companies will have the opportunity to directly participate in local programs (▲Global Demo Day ▲Open Innovation Matching ▲Global Networking ▲IR Pitching, etc.) operated in major global markets such as the US, Germany, Finland, Singapore, and Malaysia.
Furthermore, this project goes beyond simple overseas expansion support by providing a practical global growth roadmap for startups, including ▲AI-based technology advancement mentoring ▲international VC/CVC investment opportunities ▲open innovation programs for large and medium-sized overseas companies ▲customized overseas expansion strategy establishment consulting.
This year’s program will be operated by the global professional accelerator ‘Nautilus Investment’, with the goal of creating overseas local connections and tangible results. In addition, excellent participating companies will be linked to direct investment in Hwaseong Special City and additional global expansion support.
The target of support is a startup with a headquarters, factory, or research center in Hwaseong Special City. Any company with less than 7 years of operation (within 10 years for new industries) can apply. Startups in fields with high global scalability such as AI, biohealth, greentech, and smart mobility are especially welcome.
Jeon Byeong-seon, the head of the Hwaseong Industrial Promotion Agency, said, “Through this global startup takeoff operation, we will actively support startups in Hwaseong Special City so that they can leap forward as global companies based on AI technology,” and asked for “great interest and participation from promising startups.”
