데이터테크(Data Tech) 기업 빅밸류는 자사 구름 대표가 지난 9일 서울 서초구 더 리버사이드 호텔에서 개최된 ‘제58회 과학의 날 기념 장관표창 전수식’에서 과학기술정보통신부 장관 표창을 수상했다고 12일 밝혔다.
구름 대표는 현재 빅밸류의 공동대표이자 데이터서비스본부장을 겸임하고 있으며, 인공지능(AI) 기반 데이터 분석 기술을 활용해 다양한 사회적 문제 해결에 기여한 공로를 인정받아 수상의 영예를 안았다. 이번 수상은 ‘2025년도 과학기술진흥 유공 정부포상’의 일환으로, 과학기술의 발전과 국가 경쟁력 강화에 기여한 인물에게 수여된다.
구 대표는 조류인플루엔자(AI) 고위험 지역 및 농장 식별을 위한 AI 모델을 정부와 공동 개발하고, 전세사기 예방 및 금융기관의 담보대출 절차 간소화 등 공공 분야에서 데이터 기술을 실질적으로 적용한 사례를 통해 수상자로 선정됐다.
빅밸류는 2015년 설립 이후 국내 데이터 기반 기술 혁신에 앞장서 온 기업으로, 국내 최초로 인공지능 기반 부동산 시세 예측 시스템을 개발해 금융위원회의 혁신 금융 서비스 규제 샌드박스에 선정된 바 있다. 또한 AI 기반 상권 분석 솔루션을 통해 프랜차이즈 기업의 매출 예측 및 점포 전략 수립을 지원하는 등 다양한 산업 분야에 데이터테크 기술을 접목하고 있다.
구 대표는 데이터마이닝 전문가로 국가데이터정책위원회 보호·활용 분과 전문위원, 한양대학교 도시공학과 겸임교수로도 활동 중이다. 그는 지난 2019년 국토교통부로부터 공간데이터 민간 자문 공로를 인정받아 장관상을 수상한 바 있으며, 이번 과학기술정보통신부 장관 표창은 그의 두 번째 정부포상이다.
구 대표는 “데이터 산업 역시 AI 시대에 맞춰 빠르게 변화하고 있으며, 기술을 바탕으로 사회적 가치를 창출하는 것이 중요하다”며 “빅밸류는 AI 친화적 인프라를 기반으로 데이터 생태계의 선순환을 이끌고, 산업 전반의 혁신을 주도하는 기업으로 성장해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

Big Value Cloud CEO, Minister of Science and Technology Award for 'Contribution to the Promotion of Science and Technology'
Data Tech company Big Value announced on the 12th that its CEO received the Minister of Science and ICT Award at the '58th Science Day Minister's Award Ceremony' held at The Riverside Hotel in Seocho-gu, Seoul on the 9th.
Representative Gureum is currently serving as the co-CEO of Big Value and the head of the data service division, and was honored with the award in recognition of his contribution to solving various social problems by utilizing artificial intelligence (AI)-based data analysis technology. This award is part of the '2025 Government Award for Scientific and Technological Advancement' and is given to individuals who have contributed to the advancement of science and technology and the enhancement of national competitiveness.
Representative Koo was selected as the winner for his joint development of an AI model with the government to identify high-risk areas and farms for avian influenza (AI), and for his practical application of data technology in the public sector, such as preventing rental fraud and simplifying secured loan procedures at financial institutions.
Since its establishment in 2015, Big Value has been at the forefront of domestic data-based technology innovation. It was the first company in Korea to develop an AI-based real estate price prediction system and was selected for the Financial Services Commission’s innovative financial service regulatory sandbox. It is also applying data tech to various industrial fields, such as supporting franchise companies’ sales prediction and store strategy establishment through AI-based commercial district analysis solutions.
Mr. Koo is a data mining expert, and is also a specialist member of the Protection and Utilization Division of the National Data Policy Committee and an adjunct professor in the Department of Urban Engineering at Hanyang University. He received the Minister’s Award from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in 2019 in recognition of his contributions to consulting on private sector spatial data, and this award from the Minister of Science and ICT is his second government award.
CEO Koo said, “The data industry is also changing rapidly to fit the AI era, and it is important to create social value based on technology.” He added, “Big Value will lead a virtuous cycle in the data ecosystem based on AI-friendly infrastructure and grow into a company that drives innovation across the industry.”

ビッグバリューは2015年設立以来、国内データ基盤技術革新に先駆けてきた企業で、国内初の人工知能基盤不動産相場予測システムを開発し、金融委員会の革新金融サービス規制サンドボックスに選定された。また、AIベースの商圏分析ソリューションを通じて、フランチャイズ企業の売上予測や店舗戦略の樹立を支援するなど、様々な産業分野にデータテク技術を組み込んでいる。
旧代表はデータマイニング専門家で、国家データ政策委員会の保護・活用分科専門委員、漢陽大学都市工学科兼任教授としても活動中だ。彼は去る2019年国土交通部から空間データ民間諮問功労を認められ長官賞を受賞したことがあり、今回の科学技術情報通信部長官表彰は彼の2番目の政府褒賞だ。

La société de technologie de données Big Value a annoncé le 12 que son PDG avait reçu le prix du ministre des Sciences et des TIC lors de la « 58e cérémonie de remise des prix du ministre de la Journée des sciences » qui s'est tenue à l'hôtel Riverside à Seocho-gu, Séoul, le 9.
Le représentant Gureum est actuellement co-PDG de BigValue et responsable de la division des services de données. Il a reçu ce prix en reconnaissance de sa contribution à la résolution de divers problèmes sociaux en utilisant une technologie d'analyse de données basée sur l'intelligence artificielle (IA). Ce prix fait partie du « Prix gouvernemental 2025 pour le mérite dans la promotion de la science et de la technologie » et est décerné aux personnes qui ont contribué à l'avancement de la science et de la technologie et au renforcement de la compétitivité nationale.
Le représentant Koo a été sélectionné comme lauréat pour son développement conjoint d'un modèle d'IA avec le gouvernement pour identifier les zones et les fermes à haut risque pour la grippe aviaire (IA), et pour son application pratique de la technologie des données dans le secteur public, comme la prévention de la fraude locative et la simplification des procédures de prêt garanti dans les institutions financières.
Depuis sa création en 2015, Big Value est un leader de l’innovation technologique nationale basée sur les données.
