인공지능(AI) 언어 데이터 전문 기업 플리토(대표 이정수)가 지난해 창사 최대 호실적에 이어 3개 분기 연속 영업이익 흑자를 달성했다고 12일 밝혔다.
플리토는 1분기 실적 공시를 통해 연결기준 매출 약 46억 원, 영업이익 약 1억7천만 원을 기록했다고 밝혔다. 전년 동기 대비 매출은 약 10.5% 증가했으며, 영업이익은 흑자 전환했다. 특히, 지난해 3분기 흑자 전환에 성공한 이후, 3개 분기 연속 영업이익 흑자 달성에 성공하며 사업모델 특례상장으로 코스닥에 입성한 AI 기업 중 가장 눈에 띄는 성과를 내고 있다.
플리토는 지난해 흑자 전환을 목표로 밝힌 이후, 수익성 중심의 사업 포트폴리오 구축과 비용 효율 극대화를 핵심 전략으로 삼아 가시적인 성과를 거두고 있다. 특히, 이번 1분기의 경우, 일본 도쿄에 위치한 자회사 ‘플리토 재팬’이 일본 시장 수요에 맞춘 콘텐츠 번역과 AI 통번역 솔루션 제공으로 매출을 확대하는 등 전반적인 사업 성장을 통한 글로벌 경쟁력 강화에 힘을 보탰다.
앞서 지난 3월 공시를 통해 플리토는 올해 초 총 3건의 언어 데이터 공급 계약을 체결했다고 밝힌 바 있다. 해당 계약 건들에 대한 총 금액 규모는 전년 전체 매출의 65%를 상회하는 수준으로, 1분기부터 AI 언어 데이터 사업에서 의미 있는 성과를 만들어 내고 있다.
