UTC인베스트먼트는 방위산업 분야 무인기 전문 스타트업 에이디시스템에 10억 원을 투자했다고 19일 밝혔다.
2019년 설립된 에이디시스템은 무인기 설계부터 시제품 제작, 양산에 이르기까지 전 과정을 자체 수행할 수 있는 내재화 역량을 갖춘 기업이다. 주요 제품인 정찰용 무인기 AD-3000은 국내 방산 주요 업체들을 통해 성능을 검증받았으며, 실전 운용이 가능한 기체로 채택된 바 있다.
AD-3000은 레이더 반사면적(RCS)을 90% 이상 감소시키는 스텔스 기능과 90분 이상 장기 체공이 가능한 항속 성능을 보유하고 있다. 특히, 스텔스 외형 설계를 적용하면서도 공기역학적 성능과 내구성을 확보한 점이 기술적 차별화 요소로 평가받는다.
최근 전 세계적으로 무인기 기술의 군사적 활용이 확산되고 있는 가운데, 한국 국방부도 드론작전사령부를 신설하고 관련 예산을 확대하는 등 무인 전력 강화를 추진 중이다. 이에 따라 에이디시스템은 차세대 공격형 무인기 AD-4000 개발에도 착수한 상태다. AD-4000은 고도의 스텔스 기능과 무기 탑재 능력을 동시에 갖춘 기체로, 공격 임무 수행을 위한 플랫폼으로 활용될 전망이다.
UTC인베스트먼트 이길훈 부장은 “에이디시스템은 스텔스 성능, 고하중 구조, 장시간 체공 등 복합적 요구를 충족시키며, 연구용이 아닌 실전 전력화가 가능한 무인기를 상용화한 국내 드문 사례”라며 “이번 투자는 국방 무인기 시장의 성장성과 기술 실현 가능성을 고려한 결정”이라고 밝혔다.

The AD-3000 has a stealth function that reduces radar cross-section (RCS) by more than 90% and a long-term endurance of more than 90 minutes. In particular, the fact that it has secured aerodynamic performance and durability while applying a stealth exterior design is evaluated as a technological differentiating factor.
Recently, as the military use of drone technology is expanding worldwide, the Korean Ministry of National Defense is also promoting the strengthening of unmanned forces by establishing a drone operation command and expanding related budgets. Accordingly, AD Systems has also begun developing the next-generation attack drone AD-4000. The AD-4000 is a machine equipped with both advanced stealth functions and weapons loading capabilities, and is expected to be used as a platform for performing attack missions.
UTC Investment Managing Director Lee Gil-hoon said, “AD System is a rare case in Korea where a UAV has been commercialized that satisfies complex requirements such as stealth performance, high-load structure, and long-term endurance, and can be used for actual combat rather than research purposes.” He added, “This investment was a decision that took into consideration the growth potential of the defense UAV market and the feasibility of the technology.”

AD-3000具备隐身功能，可将雷达反射截面（RCS）降低90%以上，并拥有90分钟以上的长时间续航能力。尤其值得一提的是，在采用隐身外观设计的同时，还确保了气动性能和耐久性，这被评价为技术上的差异化因素。

Fondée en 2019, AD System est une entreprise dotée de capacités internes capables de prendre en charge l'ensemble du processus, de la conception du drone à la production de prototypes et à la production en série. Son produit phare, le drone de reconnaissance AD-3000, a été validé par de grandes entreprises de défense nationales et a été adopté comme avion opérationnel.
