KS인더스트리는 지난 3일(현지시간) 미국 로스앤젤레스에서 현지 기업 DOONG JI ENV.와 소방안전 제품 ‘파이어헌터(FireHunter)’에 대한 독점 유통 계약 및 업무협약을 체결하고, 미국 시장 진출을 본격화한다고 7일 밝혔다.
이번 협약을 통해 KS인더스트리는 미국 내 법인인 ‘KS파이어헌터USA’를 중심으로 ▲질식소화포 ▲소방망토 ▲소방블라인드 등 주요 제품을 미국 전역에 공급할 계획이다. 특히 소방망토의 경우, 초등학생 1명당 1개씩 보급하는 방안을 추진 중이며, 이는 약 3,700만 명에 이르는 미국 초등학생 수를 고려할 때 대규모 수요가 예상된다.
이번 사업은 미국 서부 지역의 반복적인 산불 피해에 대응하기 위한 조치로, 질식소화포는 소방기관에, 소방블라인드는 민간 주택에 설치하는 방식으로 확대될 예정이다. 미국 캘리포니아주 소방청(CAL FIRE)에 따르면 2024년 한 해 동안 8,000건 이상의 산불이 발생해 약 42만 5천 헥타르가 소실된 바 있다.
KS인더스트리 측은 파이어헌터 제품이 준불연 기능 외에도 단열, 방수, 통기성을 갖춘 복합 기능성 소재로 구성돼 있어, 기후변화로 인한 화재 리스크에 효과적으로 대응할 수 있다고 설명했다. 특히, 소방망토는 초경량 나노섬유 기술을 적용해 휴대성을 강화했으며, 소방블라인드는 스마트 화재 감지 시스템과 연동돼 건물 보호 기능을 높인 것이 특징이다.
이와 함께, KS인더스트리는 올해 4분기 캘리포니아에서 파일럿 프로그램을 시작으로 서부 지역에서의 시범사업을 추진하고, 오는 2026년까지 미국 전역으로 유통망을 확대할 계획이다.
이번 계약의 현지 파트너사 DOONG JI ENV.는 미국 환경안전 유통망을 보유한 LWS의 협력사로, 클린룸 모니터링 기업 LWS를 이끈 김태연 회장이 이끄는 기업이다. DOONG JI ENV.는 “한국의 기술력과 미국 유통망의 결합을 통해 양국 모두에 시너지를 제공할 수 있을 것”이라고 밝혔다.
KS Industry, DOONG JI ENV. Sign Exclusive Distribution Agreement for 'Fire Hunter'
KS Industry announced on the 7th that it signed an exclusive distribution contract and business agreement for the fire safety product 'FireHunter' with local company DOONG JI ENV. in Los Angeles, USA on the 3rd (local time), and is beginning to enter the US market in earnest.
Through this agreement, KS Industries plans to supply its main products such as ▲suffocating fire extinguishers ▲fire capes ▲fire blinds throughout the United States, centered around its U.S. corporation, ‘KS Fire Hunter USA.’ In particular, in the case of fire capes, a plan is being promoted to supply one per elementary school student, and considering the number of elementary school students in the United States, which is approximately 37 million, this is expected to be a large demand.
This project is a measure to respond to the recurring wildfire damage in the western United States, and will be expanded to install asphyxiating fire extinguishers in fire departments and fire blinds in private homes. According to the California State Fire Marshal (CAL FIRE), in 2024, more than 8,000 wildfires occurred, burning about 425,000 hectares.
KS Industry explained that Fire Hunter products are composed of composite functional materials that have not only semi-fireproof functions but also insulation, waterproofing, and ventilation, so they can effectively respond to fire risks caused by climate change. In particular, the fire cloak has enhanced portability by applying ultra-light nanofiber technology, and the fire blind is characterized by its enhanced building protection function by being linked to a smart fire detection system.
In addition, KS Industry plans to launch a pilot program in California in the fourth quarter of this year, pursue demonstration projects in the western region, and expand its distribution network across the United States by 2026.
The local partner for this contract, DOONG JI ENV., is a partner of LWS, which has an environmental safety distribution network in the U.S., and is led by Chairman Tae-Yeon Kim, who led LWS, a cleanroom monitoring company. DOONG JI ENV. stated, “The combination of Korean technology and U.S. distribution network will provide synergy to both countries.”

今回の事業は米国西部地域の繰り返しの山火事被害に対応するための措置で、窒息消火砲は消防機関に、消防ブラインドは民間住宅に設置する方式で拡大される予定だ。米国カリフォルニア州消防庁（ＣＡＬ ＦＩＲＥ）によると、２０２４年の１年間に８，０００件以上の山火事が発生し、約４２万５千ヘクタールが消失したことがある。
KSインダストリー側は、ファイアハンター製品が準不燃機能の他にも断熱、防水、通気性を備えた複合機能性素材で構成されており、気候変動による火災リスクに効果的に対応できると説明した。特に、消防マントは超軽量ナノファイバー技術を適用して携帯性を強化し、消防ブラインドはスマート火災検知システムと連動して建物保護機能を高めたことが特徴だ。
これと共に、KSインダストリーは今年第4四半期カリフォルニアでパイロットプログラムを皮切りに西部地域での試験事業を推進し、来る2026年まで米国全域に流通網を拡大する計画だ。
今回の契約の現地パートナー会社DOONG JI ENV.は米国環境安全流通網を保有したLWSの協力会社で、クリーンルームモニタリング企業LWSを導いたキム・テヨン会長が率いる企業だ。 DOONG JI ENV.は「韓国の技術力と米国流通網の結合を通じて両国ともに相乗効果を提供できるだろう」と明らかにした。

KS Industry a expliqué que les produits Fire Hunter sont composés de matériaux composites fonctionnels offrant non seulement des fonctions semi-ignifuges, mais aussi d'isolation, d'étanchéité et de ventilation, leur permettant ainsi de répondre efficacement aux risques d'incendie liés au changement climatique. En particulier, la cape coupe-feu est plus facilement transportable grâce à la technologie des nanofibres ultra-légères, et le store coupe-feu se caractérise par une protection renforcée du bâtiment grâce à sa connexion à un système intelligent de détection d'incendie.
En outre, KS Industry prévoit de lancer un programme pilote en Californie au quatrième trimestre de cette année, de poursuivre des projets de démonstration dans la région occidentale et d'étendre son réseau de distribution à travers les États-Unis d'ici 2026.
Le partenaire local pour ce contrat, DOONG JI ENV., est un partenaire de LWS, qui dispose d'un réseau de distribution de produits de sécurité environnementale aux États-Unis et est dirigé par le président Tae-Yeon Kim, qui dirigeait auparavant LWS, une entreprise de surveillance des salles blanches.
