라바웨이브(대표 김준엽)는 7월 9일 서울 드래곤시티호텔 한라홀에서 열린 ‘제14회 정보보호의 날’ 기념식에서 과학기술정보통신부 장관으로부터 2025년 정보보호 유공 단체 표창을 수상했다고 밝혔다.
정보보호 유공 표창은 사이버 침해사고 예방 및 대응, 정보통신 기반시설 보호, 정보보호 기술 개발, 인력 양성 등 정보보호 분야에 기여한 개인 및 단체를 대상으로 수여된다. 올해 기념식에서는 개인 21명과 단체 3곳 등 총 24점의 표창이 수여됐다.
라바웨이브는 AI 기반의 불법 촬영물 실시간 탐지 솔루션 ‘라바 스캐너(LAVAR SCANNER)’와 자체 개발한 몸캠피싱 영상 유포 방지 솔루션을 통해 디지털 범죄 예방 및 개인정보 보호에 기여한 공로를 인정받았다. 특히 민감 정보 유출 방지와 피해자 보호에 초점을 맞춘 기술 개발과 서비스 운영이 높은 평가를 받았다.
또한, 금융감독원 전자공시시스템(DART)에 업계 최초로 공식 등록돼 기업 운영의 투명성과 신뢰성을 입증했으며, 미성년자 등 취약계층을 대상으로 한 피해 예방 캠페인과 무료 지원 사업 등 사회공헌 활동도 수상 배경으로 작용했다.
라바웨이브는 2014년 화이트 해커 출신 김준엽 대표가 설립한 기업으로, 디지털 범죄 대응을 위한 전문 기술 개발에 주력하고 있다. 김 대표는 국내 최초의 몸캠피싱 대응 솔루션을 개발해 특허를 보유하고 있으며, 현재 업계 최다 특허를 기반으로 기술적 차별성과 전문성을 강화해오고 있다.

Lavawave (CEO Kim Jun-yeop) announced that it received the 2025 Information Protection Meritorious Organization Award from the Minister of Science and ICT at the '14th Information Protection Day' ceremony held at the Hanla Hall of the Dragon City Hotel in Seoul on July 9.
The Information Protection Merit Award is given to individuals and organizations that have contributed to the field of information protection, including prevention and response to cyberattacks, protection of information and communication infrastructure, development of information protection technology, and training of personnel. At this year’s ceremony, a total of 24 awards were given to 21 individuals and 3 organizations.
Lavawave was recognized for its contribution to digital crime prevention and personal information protection through its AI-based real-time illegal filming detection solution, 'LAVAR SCANNER', and its self-developed body cam phishing video distribution prevention solution. In particular, its technology development and service operation focused on preventing sensitive information leaks and protecting victims were highly evaluated.
In addition, the company was the first in the industry to be officially registered in the Financial Supervisory Service's Electronic Disclosure System (DART), proving the transparency and reliability of its corporate operations. Its social contribution activities, such as damage prevention campaigns and free support projects targeting vulnerable groups such as minors, also played a role in its award.
Lavawave was founded in 2014 by CEO Kim Jun-yeop, a former white hacker, and focuses on developing specialized technologies to respond to digital crimes. CEO Kim developed the first body cam phishing response solution in Korea and holds a patent for it, and is currently strengthening its technological differentiation and expertise based on the largest number of patents in the industry.
