헬스테크 기업 나아바코리아와 친환경 나눔스토어 기빙플러스가 지난 7월 15일, 실내 공기질 개선을 통한 지속가능한 사회공헌 실현을 위해 ESG 사회공헌 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다.
이번 협약은 단순 기부나 물품 후원을 넘어, 생활환경의 질적 향상을 기반으로 한 복지 실현이라는 새로운 방향을 제시했다는 점에서 주목된다.
핀란드에서 개발된 스마트 그린월 ‘나아바(Naava)’는 식물 기반의 바이오필터 기술을 활용해 실내 공기 중 유해물질을 정화하고, 정서적 회복을 지원하는 차세대 복지 솔루션으로 이미 전 세계 17개국 6,000여 곳에 도입되어 그 효과를 인정받고 있다.
양측은 이번 협약을 통해 ▲소방관 사무실, 아동복지시설, 독거노인 거주지 등 공공성이 높은 복지공간에 ‘실내 숲’을 조성, ▲기빙플러스 오프라인 매장의 실내공기질 개선을 통한 실질적 환경복지 구현, ▲예술과 자연을 연결하는 아트 캠페인 등 다양한 ESG 사회공헌 사업을 공동 기획·추진할 계획이다.
특히 나아바코리아는 “신선한 공기를 호흡하는 것은 모든 사람에게 보장돼야 할 기본적인 권리”라는 철학 아래, 기업의 핵심 역량을 기반으로 한 사회적 기여에 집중하겠다는 뜻을 밝혔다.
기빙플러스 관계자는 “이번 협약은 취약계층 근로자의 실내 공기질 개선을 통해 일상 속에서 복지의 가치를 체감할 수 있도록 하는 의미 있는 시도”라며 “기빙플러스는 앞으로도 나아바코리아와의 협력을 통해 환경과 복지가 조화를 이루는 ESG 사회공헌 모델을 확산해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

On July 15, health tech company Naava Korea and eco-friendly sharing store Giving Plus signed an ESG social contribution business agreement (MOU) to realize sustainable social contribution through improving indoor air quality.
This agreement is noteworthy in that it suggests a new direction for welfare realization based on qualitative improvement of living environment, beyond simple donations or sponsorship of goods.
Developed in Finland, the smart green wall 'Naava' is a next-generation welfare solution that uses plant-based biofilter technology to purify harmful substances in indoor air and support emotional recovery. It has already been introduced in over 6,000 locations in 17 countries around the world and its effectiveness has been recognized.
Through this agreement, both parties plan to jointly plan and promote various ESG social contribution projects, such as ▲creating ‘indoor forests’ in public welfare spaces such as firefighters’ offices, child welfare facilities, and residences for the elderly living alone, ▲implementing practical environmental welfare by improving indoor air quality in Giving Plus offline stores, and ▲art campaigns that connect art and nature.
In particular, Naava Korea announced its intention to focus on social contribution based on the company's core competencies under the philosophy that "breathing fresh air is a basic right that should be guaranteed to everyone."
A Giving Plus official said, “This agreement is a meaningful attempt to allow vulnerable workers to experience the value of welfare in their daily lives by improving indoor air quality,” and added, “Giving Plus will continue to expand the ESG social contribution model that harmonizes the environment and welfare through cooperation with Naava Korea.”
