피에스텍(대표 황재용)은 글로벌 스마트 계량기 제조사인 Goldcard Smart Group(이하 골드카드)과 전략적 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 8일 밝혔다. 협약식은 서울에서 열렸으며, 피에스텍 김기연 전무와 골드카드 Byron Wang 부사장을 비롯한 양사 주요 관계자들이 참석했다.
이번 협약을 통해 양사는 ▲초음파 가스 및 수도 계량기 기술 협력 ▲스마트 계량기 제조 자동화 설비 구축 ▲국내외 시장에서의 공동 사업 추진 등을 포함한 다방면의 협력을 추진할 계획이다.
골드카드는 1997년 설립된 중국 기반의 스마트 계량기 전문기업으로, IoT 기술을 접목한 스마트 가스 계량기 및 관련 소프트웨어·데이터 관리 플랫폼을 제공하고 있다. 특히 가스 계량기 부문에서는 중국 내 시장 점유율 1위를 기록하고 있으며, 현재 40여 개국에 제품을 수출하며 글로벌 시장에서도 상위권 제조사로 평가받고 있다. 이외에도 초음파 수도 계량기, 친환경 에너지 솔루션 등 다양한 분야에서 기술력을 인정받고 있다.
피에스텍은 계량·계측 분야에서의 기술 및 제조 역량을 기반으로 골드카드의 자동화 생산 기술 및 소프트웨어 솔루션을 접목해 제품 경쟁력을 강화할 방침이다. 또한 양사의 글로벌 네트워크와 기술 협력을 바탕으로 제3국 시장 진출 등 해외 사업 확대를 본격화할 예정이다.
피에스텍 관계자는 “이번 협약은 스마트 계량기 생산 효율성과 기술 고도화는 물론, 국내외 시장에서의 사업 기회를 확대하는 중요한 계기가 될 것”이라며, “양사는 협력을 통해 계량기 분야를 넘어 새로운 시장 개척에도 공동 대응할 예정”이라고 밝혔다.

PSTEC plans to strengthen its product competitiveness by leveraging its technological and manufacturing capabilities in the weighing and measurement fields with Gold Card's automated production technology and software solutions. Furthermore, leveraging the two companies' global networks and technological collaboration, the company plans to actively expand its overseas business, including entering third-country markets.
A PSTech official stated, “This agreement will be an important opportunity to not only improve the production efficiency and technological advancement of smart meters, but also expand business opportunities in domestic and international markets.” He added, “Through cooperation, the two companies plan to jointly respond to the development of new markets beyond the meter field.”

ピエステック関係者は「今回の条約はスマートメーターの生産効率と技術高度化はもちろん、国内外市場での事業機会を拡大する重要なきっかけになるだろう」とし、「両社は協力を通じてメーター分野を越えて新しい市場開拓にも共同対応する予定」と明らかにした。
