친환경 건축 솔루션 기업 ㈜세라(SERA)와 국내 대표 종합 도료 기업 조광페인트㈜가 차세대 스마트 단열 시스템 공동 개발에 나선다.
양사는 지난 8월 29일 경기 군포 R&D센터에서 업무협약(MOU)을 체결하고, 세라가 개발 중인 고성능 단열재에 조광페인트의 내열 코팅 기술을 접목한 신제품을 공동 개발하기로 합의했다. 이번 협약은 기술적 융합을 통한 제품 성능 강화와 ESG 환경 기준에 부합하는 건축 솔루션 마련을 목표로 한다.
특히 이번 MOU는 부산창조경제혁신센터가 주관한 ‘스타트업 오픈이노베이션 챌린지 In 부산 2025’ 프로그램을 통해 성사된 협력 성과로, 스타트업과 지역 중견기업간 기술 협력이 실제 사업화로 이어진 대표적 사례로 평가된다.
협력 범위는 ▲세라의 단열재 프로토타입 개발 및 성능 시험 ▲조광페인트의 코팅 소재 제공 및 기술 자문 ▲상용화 단계에서 합리적 단가 공급 협의 등이다. 또한 양사는 건설사, 시공사, 설계사무소 등을 대상으로 한 공동 영업과 마케팅 자료 제작, 필요 시 공동 브랜드 및 프로모션 활동도 추진할 예정이다.
세라는 이번 협력을 통해 고효율 단열재에 내열 기능을 더한 신제품을 선보여 건축물의 에너지 효율을 높이고, 친환경 인증을 기반으로 한 ESG 시장 수요에 대응한다는 전략이다. 조광페인트 역시 기존 코팅 기술을 건축 자재 영역으로 확장해 새로운 성장 동력을 확보할 것으로 기대된다.
세라 김도연 대표는 “세라의 단열재 기술과 조광페인트의 코팅 역량이 만나 ESG 건축 자재 분야의 새로운 기준을 만들 것”이라며 “이번 협력으로 글로벌 친환경 건축 시장에서도 경쟁력을 높여 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
조광페인트 서순석 신사업실장은 “단순 소재 공급을 넘어 스마트 단열 시스템 공동 개발에 참여하게 된 것은 의미 있는 진전”이라며 “양사 간 시너지를 통해 건축 시장에서 새로운 가치를 창출할 것”이라고 말했다.

Sera Signs Business Agreement with Jo Kwang Paint
SERA, an eco-friendly building solutions company, and Jo Kwang Paint, a leading domestic comprehensive paint company, are embarking on the joint development of a next-generation smart insulation system.
On August 29th, the two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at their Gunpo R&D Center in Gyeonggi Province, agreeing to jointly develop a new product that combines Cera's high-performance insulation material with Jo Gwang Paint's heat-resistant coating technology. This agreement aims to enhance product performance through technological convergence and develop architectural solutions that meet ESG standards.
In particular, this MOU is a result of cooperation achieved through the 'Startup Open Innovation Challenge in Busan 2025' program hosted by the Busan Creative Economy Innovation Center, and is evaluated as a representative case in which technological cooperation between a startup and a local mid-sized company led to actual commercialization.
The scope of the collaboration includes: development and performance testing of Sera's insulation prototype; provision of coating materials and technical consulting for photoluminescent paint; and negotiations on reasonable unit price supply during the commercialization phase. Furthermore, the two companies plan to jointly develop sales and marketing materials targeting construction companies, contractors, and design firms, and pursue joint branding and promotional activities, if necessary.
Through this collaboration, Sera aims to introduce new products that combine heat resistance with high-efficiency insulation, thereby improving the energy efficiency of buildings and responding to ESG market demand based on eco-friendly certification. Jo Gwang Paint also expects to secure new growth engines by expanding its existing coating technology into the building materials sector.
“The combination of Sera’s insulation technology and Jo Gwang Paint’s coating capabilities will create a new standard in the ESG building materials industry,” said Sera CEO Kim Do-yeon. “Through this collaboration, we will also enhance our competitiveness in the global eco-friendly building market.”
Seo Soon-seok, head of the new business division at Jo Kwang Paint, said, “It is a meaningful step forward to go beyond simple material supply and participate in the joint development of a smart insulation system,” adding, “We will create new value in the construction market through the synergy between our two companies.”

具体而言，该谅解备忘录是釜山创意经济创新中心主办的“釜山2025创业开放创新挑战赛”项目合作的成果，并被评估为创业公司与当地中型企业之间技术合作实现实际商业化的典型案例。
此次合作范围包括：Sera公司绝缘材料原型产品的开发和性能测试；提供光致发光涂料的涂层材料和技术咨询；以及在商业化阶段就合理的单价供应进行谈判。此外，两家公司计划联合开发面向建筑公司、承包商和设计公司的销售和营销材料，并在必要时开展联合品牌推广活动。

Sera signe un accord commercial avec Jo Kwang Paint
SERA, une entreprise spécialisée dans les solutions de construction écologiques, et Jo Kwang Paint, une entreprise nationale leader dans le domaine de la peinture, se lancent dans le développement conjoint d'un système d'isolation intelligent de nouvelle génération.
Le 29 août, les deux entreprises ont signé un protocole d'accord au sein de leur centre de recherche et développement de Gunpo, dans la province de Gyeonggi. Cet accord porte sur le développement conjoint d'un nouveau produit associant le matériau isolant haute performance de Cera à la technologie de revêtement résistant à la chaleur de Jo Gwang Paint. Il vise à optimiser les performances du produit grâce à la convergence technologique et à développer des solutions architecturales conformes aux normes ESG.
Ce protocole d'accord est notamment le fruit d'une coopération réalisée dans le cadre du programme « Startup Open Innovation Challenge in Busan 2025 » organisé par le Busan Creative Economy Innovation Center, et est considéré comme un cas représentatif où la coopération technologique entre une start-up et une PME locale a abouti à une commercialisation effective.
Le périmètre de la collaboration comprend : le développement et les essais de performance du prototype d’isolation de Sera ; la fourniture de matériaux de revêtement et de conseils techniques pour la peinture photoluminescente ; et la négociation d’un prix unitaire raisonnable pour la fourniture lors de la phase de commercialisation. Par ailleurs, les deux entreprises prévoient de développer conjointement des supports de vente et de marketing destinés aux entreprises de construction, aux entrepreneurs et aux bureaux d’études, et de mener des actions conjointes de promotion et de stratégie de marque, le cas échéant.
Grâce à cette collaboration, Sera ambitionne de lancer de nouveaux produits alliant résistance à la chaleur et isolation haute performance, améliorant ainsi l'efficacité énergétique des bâtiments et répondant à la demande du marché en matière d'ESG (environnement, gouvernance et services) grâce à une certification environnementale. Jo Gwang Paint prévoit également de dynamiser sa croissance en étendant son expertise en revêtements au secteur des matériaux de construction.
