차세대 동형암호 기술을 개발하는 크립토랩(대표 천정희)은 9월 2일 카카오엔터프라이즈와 클라우드 및 보안 기술 협력을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 3일 밝혔다. 협약식은 경기도 성남시 판교에서 진행됐으며, 양사 주요 관계자들이 참석했다.
이번 협약은 크립토랩의 동형암호 기술과 카카오엔터프라이즈의 클라우드 인프라 역량을 결합해, 민감 데이터 보호와 고도화된 AI 서비스 제공을 동시에 달성하는 데 목적이 있다. 특히 금융, 헬스케어, 공공 등 고수준의 데이터 보안이 요구되는 분야에서 실질적인 시너지가 기대된다.
동형암호는 데이터를 암호화한 상태에서 복호화 없이 연산이 가능한 기술로, 민감한 원본 데이터를 노출하지 않고도 AI 학습과 분석이 가능하다. 크립토랩은 이 기술을 활용해 생체 인증, 유전체 분석, 안면 결제 등 다양한 분야에서 안전한 데이터 처리 환경을 구현하고 있다.
협약에 따라 카카오엔터프라이즈는 자사의 클라우드 인프라와 관련 기술을 지원하고, 동형암호 관련 전문가 양성 교육 프로그램도 공동 추진할 예정이다. 크립토랩은 동형암호 기술과 운영 노하우를 공유하고, 클라우드 기반 사업 기회를 함께 발굴·확산하는 역할을 맡는다. 양사는 향후 동형암호와 클라우드 기술 전반에 걸쳐 우선 협력 관계를 유지하며 공동 성과 창출을 위한 기반을 마련할 계획이다.
천정희 크립토랩 대표(서울대학교 수리과학부 교수)는 “크립토랩의 동형암호 기술은 고도의 보안이 필요한 다양한 서비스에 적용될 수 있으며, 카카오엔터프라이즈와의 협력을 통해 기술 상용화에 박차를 가할 것”이라고 말했다.
이재한 카카오엔터프라이즈 클라우드부문 사업본부장은 “카카오클라우드의 고성능 인프라를 기반으로 크립토랩의 기술 개발을 적극 지원하고, 클라우드 기반의 안전한 동형암호 서비스 생태계 조성에 기여하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Cryptolab Signs Business Agreement with Kakao Enterprise
Cryptolab (CEO Jeonghee Cheon) , a developer of next-generation homomorphic encryption technology, announced on September 3rd that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kakao Enterprise on September 2nd for collaboration on cloud and security technologies. The signing ceremony took place in Pangyo, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, and was attended by key representatives from both companies.
This agreement aims to combine Cryptolab's homomorphic encryption technology with Kakao Enterprise's cloud infrastructure capabilities to simultaneously protect sensitive data and provide advanced AI services. Substantial synergy is expected, particularly in sectors requiring high levels of data security, such as finance, healthcare, and the public sector.
Homomorphic encryption is a technology that allows computations on encrypted data without decryption, enabling AI learning and analysis without exposing sensitive raw data. Cryptolab is leveraging this technology to create a secure data processing environment in various fields, including biometric authentication, genome analysis, and facial recognition payments.
Under the agreement, Kakao Enterprise will support its cloud infrastructure and related technologies and jointly launch a training program to cultivate experts in homomorphic encryption. Cryptolab will share homomorphic encryption technology and operational expertise, and jointly identify and expand cloud-based business opportunities. The two companies plan to prioritize cooperation across homomorphic encryption and cloud technologies, laying the foundation for joint achievements.
“CryptoLab’s homomorphic encryption technology can be applied to a variety of services that require high levels of security, and we will accelerate the commercialization of this technology through our collaboration with Kakao Enterprise,” said Cheon Jeong-hee, CEO of CryptoLab and professor at Seoul National University’s Department of Mathematical Sciences.
Lee Jae-han, head of the cloud business division at Kakao Enterprise, said, “We will actively support Crypto Lab’s technological development based on Kakao Cloud’s high-performance infrastructure and contribute to the creation of a secure, cloud-based homomorphic encryption service ecosystem.”

Cryptolab (PDG : Jeonghee Cheon) , société spécialisée dans le développement de technologies de chiffrement homomorphe de nouvelle génération, a annoncé le 3 septembre avoir signé un protocole d’accord avec Kakao Enterprise le 2 septembre en vue d’une collaboration sur les technologies du cloud et de la sécurité. La cérémonie de signature s’est déroulée à Pangyo, dans la municipalité de Seongnam (province de Gyeonggi), en présence de représentants clés des deux entreprises.
Cet accord vise à combiner la technologie de chiffrement homomorphe de Cryptolab avec les capacités de l'infrastructure cloud de Kakao Enterprise afin de protéger simultanément les données sensibles et de fournir des services d'IA avancés.
