디에프알엔(서비스명: 써클로, Circlo)이 한국투자액셀러레이터로부터 시드투자를 유치했다고 밝혔다. 투자금은 비공개다. 이번 투자를 통해 디에프알엔은 글로벌 친환경 소재 기업으로의 도약을 본격화할 계획이다.
회사는 효소 기반 생물학적 재활용 기술을 딥러닝 기반 AI 단백질 설계 모델과 데이터 기반 연구를 결합해 기존 생화학적 재활용 공정의 한계를 뛰어넘는 고효율·저비용 방식의 자원화 솔루션 ‘써클로’를 개발하고 있다. 특히 섬유·비섬유를 저에너지 조건(또는 저전력조건)에서 정밀하게 분리할 수 있는 독자적 전처리 기술이 효소 기반 재활용 기술과 시너지를 발휘하여 기존 기술 대비 높은 경제성을 확보할 수 있는 점이 강점이다.
현재 디에프알엔은 산업용 작업복 렌탈 전문 글로벌 기업인 린드스트롬 코리아와 폐기 작업복 순환을 위한 PoC를 진행하며 사업화 가능성을 입증해가고 있다. 김한국 대표를 비롯해 KAIST와 SK 출신의 바이오·AI·화학 공정 전문가들이 포진한 팀은 기술력과 사업 경험을 모두 갖춘 것으로 평가된다

DFRN Secures Seed Investment from Korea Investment Accelerator
DFRN (service name: Circlo) announced that it has secured seed investment from the Korea Investment Accelerator. The amount of the investment was undisclosed. Through this investment, DFRN plans to accelerate its growth into a global eco-friendly materials company.
The company is developing "Circle," a high-efficiency, low-cost resource recovery solution that overcomes the limitations of existing biochemical recycling processes by combining enzyme-based biological recycling technology with deep learning-based AI protein design models and data-driven research. Specifically, the company's proprietary preprocessing technology, which enables precise separation of fibers and non-fibers under low-energy (or low-power) conditions, synergizes with enzyme-based recycling technology, achieving higher cost-effectiveness compared to existing technologies.
Currently, DFRN is conducting a proof-of-concept (PoC) for recycling discarded workwear with Lindstrom Korea, a global company specializing in industrial workwear rental, to demonstrate its commercial viability. The team, led by CEO Kim Han-guk and comprised of bio, AI, and chemical process experts from KAIST and SK, is considered to possess both technological prowess and business experience.
