친환경 리튬 회수 기술 기업 그린미네랄이 기술력과 미래 성장 가능성을 인정받아 지난 7일 대통령 직속 2050 탄소중립 녹색성장위원회가 주관하는 ‘넷제로 챌린지X’ 프로그램에 최종 선정되었다고 12일 밝혔다.
넷제로챌린지X는 탄소중립·녹색성장 분야에서 혁신적인 기술을 보유한 스타트업을 발굴하여 글로벌 유니콘 기업으로 성장하도록 집중 육성하는 국가 프로젝트이다. 그린미네랄은 이번 선정으로 폐배터리 재활용 분야에서의 선도적인 입지를 더욱 확고히 할 것으로 기대한다.
그린미네랄은 폐배터리에서 리튬을 1차 회수 후, 버려지는 폐수(잔존 리튬이 남아있는 저농도의 용액)에서 리튬을 추가 추출하는 기술을 보유하고 있다. 폐수에서 리튬을 추가 추출하기 위하여 유전자 조작된 클로렐라의 생광물화 기술을 적용하고 있다.
정광환 그린미네랄 대표는 “그린미네랄은 2025년 한국전력공사가 지원하는 ‘초격차 스타트업 1000+ 프로젝트’ 선정에 이어 넷제로챌린지X에 선정되며 기술력을 인정받게 되었다”며, “이번 선정을 발판 삼아 친환경 리튬 회수 기술 상용화에 더욱 박차를 가하여 국내 탄소중립 실현에 기여하고 폐배터리 재활용 시장에서의 글로벌 기술을 선도하는 기업으로 도약할 것”이라고 말했다.

Green Mineral, an eco-friendly lithium recovery technology company, announced on the 12th that it was finally selected for the 'Net Zero Challenge X' program hosted by the Presidential Committee on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth by 2050 in recognition of its technological prowess and future growth potential.
NetZero Challenge X is a national project that identifies startups with innovative technologies in the fields of carbon neutrality and green growth and fosters their growth into global unicorns. Green Mineral expects this selection to further solidify its leading position in the waste battery recycling sector.
Green Mineral possesses technology to recover lithium from spent batteries, then further extract it from the wastewater (a low-concentration solution containing residual lithium). To further extract lithium from the wastewater, the company is applying biomineralization technology using genetically engineered chlorella.

環境にやさしいリチウム回収技術企業グリーンミネラルが技術力と未来成長の可能性を認められ、去る7日大統領直属2050炭素中立緑成長委員会が主管する「ネットゼロチャレンジX」プログラムに最終選定されたと12日明らかにした。
ネットゼロチャレンジXは炭素中立・緑成長分野で革新的な技術を保有したスタートアップを発掘し、グローバルユニコーン企業に成長するよう集中育成する国家プロジェクトだ。グリーンミネラルは今回の選定で廃電池リサイクル分野での先導的な立地をより一層確固たるものと期待する。
グリーンミネラルは、廃電池でリチウムを一次回収した後、廃棄される廃水（残存リチウムが残っている低濃度の溶液）からリチウムをさらに抽出する技術を保有している。廃水からリチウムをさらに抽出するために、遺伝子操作されたクロレラの生鉱物化技術が適用されている。
チョン・グァンファンのグリーンミネラル代表は「グリーンミネラルは2025年韓国電力公社が支援する「超格差スタートアップ1000+プロジェクト」選定に続き、ネットゼロチャレンジXに選ばれ、技術力を認められた」とし、「今回の選定を踏まえ、環境に優しいリチウム回収に貢献して廃電池リサイクル市場でのグローバル技術を先導する企業に飛躍するだろう」と話した。

NetZero Challenge X 是一项国家级项目，旨在发掘在碳中和与绿色增长领域拥有创新技术的初创企业，并助力其成长为全球独角兽企业。Green Mineral 希望此次入选能够进一步巩固其在废旧电池回收领域的领先地位。
Green Mineral公司拥有从废旧电池中回收锂的技术，并能进一步从废水（一种含有残留锂的低浓度溶液）中提取锂。为了进一步从废水中提取锂，该公司正在应用生物矿化技术，利用基因工程改造的小球藻。

NetZero Challenge X est un projet national qui repère les startups aux technologies innovantes dans les domaines de la neutralité carbone et de la croissance verte, et les accompagne dans leur développement jusqu'à devenir des licornes mondiales. Green Mineral espère que cette sélection consolidera sa position de leader dans le secteur du recyclage des batteries usagées.
Green Mineral possède une technologie permettant de récupérer le lithium des batteries usagées, puis de l'extraire des eaux usées (une solution faiblement concentrée contenant du lithium résiduel). Pour extraire davantage de lithium des eaux usées, l'entreprise utilise une technologie de biominéralisation faisant appel à des chlorelles génétiquement modifiées.
