스파크랩그룹의 벤처캐피탈 스파크랩파트너스(대표 김호민)가 포항 지역에 임상전문특화병원을 설립하고 바이오 클러스터를 구축한다고 22일 밝혔다. 이를 위해 스파크랩파트너스는 한동대학교, 포항테크노파크, 한국엔젤투자협회와 한동대학교 현동홀에서 4자 업무협약을 체결했다.
이번 협약을 통해 기관들은 ▲임상 중심 바이오 스타트업 육성 ▲산학연 의과학·바이오 연구 공동 추진 ▲투자 재원 확보 및 전략 수립 ▲임상시험 수행 및 연구 인프라 제공 ▲실증과 사업화 촉진 등 통합형 바이오 클러스터 구축을 목표로 협력한다.
이번 프로젝트는 지역 의료기관, 연구기관, 민간 투자사가 결합해 포항을 임상 연구에서 기술 사업화까지 이어지는 바이오 혁신 거점으로 육성하고, 지역 의료 인프라를 활용한 바이오 스타트업 성장 사다리를 마련하는 데 목적을 둔다.
김호민 스파크랩파트너스 대표는 “국내에서 임상시험 여건 부족으로 해외에서 임상을 진행하는 경우가 많았다”며 “임상전문병원 설립으로 임상 중심 바이오 클러스터 모델을 구현하고 포항을 글로벌 바이오 허브로 성장시키겠다”고 말했다.

SparkLabs Partners to Establish Pohang Clinical Specialty Hospital and Build Bio Cluster
SparkLabs Partners (CEO Kim Ho-min), a venture capital firm within SparkLabs Group, announced on the 22nd that it will establish a clinical specialty hospital and build a bio cluster in the Pohang region. To this end, SparkLabs Partners signed a four-party business agreement with Handong Global University, Pohang Technopark, and the Korea Angel Investment Association at Handong Global University's Hyeondong Hall.
Through this agreement, the institutions will collaborate to build an integrated bio cluster, including ▲ fostering clinical-focused bio startups, ▲ jointly promoting medical science and bio research across industry, academia, and research, ▲ securing investment resources and establishing strategies, ▲ conducting clinical trials and providing research infrastructure, and ▲ promoting verification and commercialization.
This project aims to foster Pohang as a bio-innovation hub, encompassing clinical research through technology commercialization, by bringing together local medical institutions, research institutes, and private investors, and to establish a growth ladder for bio-startups leveraging the region's medical infrastructure.
Kim Ho-min, CEO of SparkLabs Partners, said, “Due to the lack of clinical trial facilities in Korea, many clinical trials have been conducted overseas. By establishing a clinical specialty hospital, we will implement a clinical-centered bio cluster model and develop Pohang into a global bio hub.”

スパークラップパートナーズ、浦項臨床専門専門病院設立・バイオクラスター構築推進
スパークラップグループのベンチャーキャピタルスパークラップパートナーズ（代表キム・ホミン）が浦項地域に臨床専門特化病院を設立し、バイオクラスターを構築すると22日明らかにした。このためスパークラップパートナーズは韓東大学、浦項テクノパーク、韓国エンジェル投資協会と韓東大学ヒョンドンホールで4者業務協約を締結した。
今回の協約を通じて、機関は▲臨床中心バイオスタートアップ育成▲産学研医科学・バイオ研究共同推進▲投資財源確保及び戦略樹立▲臨床試験遂行及び研究インフラ提供▲実証と事業化促進など統合型バイオクラスター構築を目標に協力する。
今回のプロジェクトは地域医療機関、研究機関、民間投資会社が結合し、浦項を臨床研究から技術事業化まで続くバイオイノベーション拠点に育成し、地域医療インフラを活用したバイオスタートアップ成長梯子を設けることに目的を置く。
キム・ホミンのスパークラップパートナー代表は「国内で臨床試験の条件不足で海外で臨床を進行する場合が多かった」とし「臨床専門病院設立で臨床中心バイオクラスターモデルを実装し、浦項をグローバルバイオハブに成長させる」と話した。

SparkLabs集团旗下的风险投资公司SparkLabs Partners（CEO金浩民）于22日宣布，将在浦项地区建立一家临床专科医院并打造一个生物产业集群。为此，SparkLabs Partners与韩东国际大学、浦项科技园和韩国天使投资协会在韩东国际大学贤洞礼堂签署了四方合作协议。
通过这项协议，各机构将合作构建一个综合生物集群，包括▲培育以临床为重点的生物初创企业，▲共同促进产业界、学术界和研究界之间的医学科学和生物研究，▲确保投资资源并制定战略，▲开展临床试验并提供研究基础设施，以及▲促进验证和商业化。
该项目旨在将浦项打造成为生物创新中心，涵盖从临床研究到技术商业化的全过程，通过汇集当地医疗机构、研究机构和私人投资者，为利用该地区医疗基础设施的生物初创企业建立发展阶梯。
SparkLabs Partners首席执行官金浩民表示：“由于韩国缺乏临床试验设施，许多临床试验都在海外进行。通过建立临床专科医院，我们将实施以临床为中心的生物产业集群模式，并将浦项打造成为全球生物中心。”

SparkLabs s'associe à Pohang pour créer un hôpital clinique spécialisé et développer un pôle de biotechnologies.
SparkLabs Partners (PDG : Kim Ho-min), société de capital-risque du groupe SparkLabs, a annoncé le 22 juillet la création d’un hôpital spécialisé et d’un pôle de biotechnologies dans la région de Pohang. À cette fin, SparkLabs Partners a signé un accord commercial quadripartite avec l’Université mondiale de Handong, le Technoparc de Pohang et l’Association coréenne des investisseurs providentiels, au Hyeondong Hall de l’Université mondiale de Handong.
Grâce à cet accord, les institutions collaboreront à la création d'un pôle bio intégré, notamment en : ▲ favorisant les jeunes entreprises bio axées sur la clinique, ▲ promouvant conjointement les sciences médicales et la recherche biologique dans l'industrie, le monde universitaire et la recherche, ▲ obtenant des ressources d'investissement et établissant des stratégies, ▲ menant des essais cliniques et fournissant une infrastructure de recherche, et ▲ promouvant la vérification et la commercialisation.
Ce projet vise à faire de Pohang un pôle de bio-innovation, englobant la recherche clinique et la commercialisation des technologies, en réunissant les institutions médicales locales, les instituts de recherche et les investisseurs privés, et à établir un tremplin pour les jeunes entreprises de biotechnologie tirant parti de l'infrastructure médicale de la région.
Kim Ho-min, PDG de SparkLabs Partners, a déclaré : « En raison du manque d’infrastructures pour les essais cliniques en Corée, de nombreux essais cliniques sont menés à l’étranger. La création d’un hôpital spécialisé nous permettra de mettre en œuvre un modèle de pôle de biotechnologie axé sur la clinique et de faire de Pohang un centre mondial de la biotechnologie. »
