의료 인공지능(AI) 기업 루닛(대표 서범석)은 사우디아라비아(이하 사우디) 민간 의료기관인 ‘술라이만 알-하빕 메디컬 그룹(Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group, 이하 HMG)’과 흉부 엑스레이 AI 영상분석 솔루션 ‘루닛 인사이트 CXR’을 공급하는 계약을 체결했다고 지난 6일 밝혔다.
HMG는 사우디, 아랍에미리트(이하 UAE), 바레인 등에서 20개 이상의 의료 시설을 운영 중인 대규모 민간 의료기관으로, 디지털 의료 솔루션 도입에 앞장서며 중동 의료계의 디지털 전환을 선도하고 있다.
이번 계약은 루닛과 HMG가 지난해 체결한 ‘루닛 인사이트 MMG’ 공급 계약에 이은 두 번째 계약이다. 3년간 약 100만건 이상의 흉부 엑스레이 영상이 루닛 솔루션을 통해 분석될 예정이며, HMG가 첫 계약을 통해 루닛 AI 솔루션의 임상적 유효성과 의료진 업무량 감소 등을 직접 검증한 후 다른 제품에 대한 추가 구매를 결정했다는 점에서 의미가 크다.
특히 루닛은 지난해 사우디 정부의 국책사업 ‘비전 2030’의 주요 과제인 ‘SEHA 가상병원(SEHA Virtual Hospital)’ 프로젝트에 참여하며 공공의료 영역에서 첫 성과를 달성한 바 있다. 이어 HMG와 두 번의 계약 체결을 통해 신뢰도를 입증하며, 진출 영역을 사우디 전역으로 확장 중이다.

한편 글로벌 시장조사 기관 Markets and Data에 따르면 사우디 의료AI 시장은 연평균 27%의 성장률을 나타내며, 2023년 3,437만 달러(한화 약 496억원)에서 2031년 2억 3,177만 달러(한화 약 3,342억원) 규모로 급성장할 전망이다.

Runit Signs Supply Agreement with Saudi Medical Institution
Medical artificial intelligence (AI) company Lunit (CEO Seo Beom-seok) announced on the 6th that it signed a contract to supply its chest X-ray AI image analysis solution, Lunit Insight CXR, to Saudi Arabian private medical institution, Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group (HMG).
HMG is a large-scale private healthcare organization that operates more than 20 healthcare facilities in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Bahrain. It is leading the digital transformation of the healthcare industry in the Middle East by pioneering the introduction of digital healthcare solutions.
This contract is the second contract following the supply contract for 'Lunit Insight MMG' signed between Lunit and HMG last year. Over 1 million chest X-ray images are expected to be analyzed using Lunit's solution over the next three years, and this is significant in that HMG directly verified the clinical effectiveness of Lunit's AI solution and the reduction in medical staff workload through the first contract before deciding to purchase additional products.
In particular, Lunit achieved its first achievement in the public healthcare sector by participating in the 'SEHA Virtual Hospital' project, a major task of the Saudi government's national project 'Vision 2030' last year. Following this, it is proving its reliability by signing two contracts with HMG and is expanding its area of entry to the entire Saudi Arabia.
Seo Beom-seok, CEO of Runit, said, “The Middle East is a strategically very important market with a high need for digitalization of healthcare infrastructure and active investment at the government level.” He added, “The additional contract with HMG reaffirms Runit’s AI technology and the local trust in our company and products. Meanwhile, according to global market research firm Markets and Data, the Saudi medical AI market is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 27%, from USD 34.37 million (KRW 49.6 billion) in 2023 to USD 231.77 million (KRW 334.2 billion) in 2031.

La société d'intelligence artificielle médicale (IA) Lunit (PDG Seo Beom-seok) a annoncé le 6 avoir signé un contrat pour fournir sa solution d'analyse d'images radiographiques thoraciques par IA, Lunit Insight CXR, à l'institution médicale privée saoudienne, Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group (HMG).
HMG est une organisation privée de soins de santé de grande envergure qui gère plus de 20 établissements de santé en Arabie saoudite, aux Émirats arabes unis (EAU) et à Bahreïn. Elle est à la pointe de la transformation numérique du secteur de la santé au Moyen-Orient en étant la pionnière de l'introduction de solutions de santé numériques.
Ce contrat est le deuxième contrat suivant le contrat de fourniture de « Lunit Insight MMG » signé entre Lunit et HMG l'année dernière. Il est prévu que plus d'un million d'images radiographiques thoraciques seront analysées grâce à la solution Lunit au cours des trois prochaines années.
