네츄럴코어는 21일, 지난 17일 동물자유연대와 위기동물 보호 및 인식 개선을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다. 이번 협약은 유기동물 등 위기 상황에 처한 동물의 구조 및 보호, 그리고 사회적 인식 제고를 위한 상호 협력 체계를 구축하는 데 목적이 있다.
업무협약 체결식은 경기도 남양주시에 위치한 강아지 보호소 ‘온독(On Dog)’에서 진행됐으며, 이진영 네츄럴코어 대표, 조희경 동물자유연대 대표를 포함한 양측 관계자들이 참석했다.
협약에 따라 네츄럴코어는 위기동물 보호를 위한 강아지 사료 등 펫푸드 제품과 입양키트를 동물자유연대에 정기적으로 지원할 계획이다. 지원되는 입양키트는 반려가족에게 전달되며, 동물의 연령, 건강 상태, 성격 등을 고려한 맞춤형 사료와 간식 등으로 구성돼 있다. 이를 통해 입양 초기 반려가족의 돌봄 부담을 줄이고, 반려동물에 대한 이해도를 높이는 데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
동물자유연대는 2000년 설립된 비영리 동물보호단체로, 동물 구조·보호·입양 연계 활동과 함께 동물복지 향상을 위한 다양한 교육 및 인식 개선 캠페인을 지속적으로 운영해왔다.
조희경 동물자유연대 대표는 “구조된 동물들이 새로운 삶을 시작하기 위해서는 지속적인 보호와 돌봄이 필요하다”며 “네츄럴코어처럼 동물복지에 관심을 갖고 함께하는 기업의 참여가 매우 큰 힘이 된다”고 말했다.
이진영 네츄럴코어 대표는 “동물복지 향상은 단발성 후원을 넘어, 인식 개선을 포함한 지속가능한 구조적 지원이 병행돼야 한다”며 “네츄럴코어는 앞으로도 반려동물 라이프스타일 기업으로서 위기동물 보호와 동물복지 증진에 적극적으로 기여하겠다”고 밝혔다.
Natural Core and Animal Freedom Union Sign Business Agreement

It is expected that this will help reduce the burden of care for companion animals in the early stages of adoption and increase understanding of companion animals.
Animal Freedom Union is a non-profit animal protection organization established in 2000 that has been continuously operating various education and awareness-raising campaigns to improve animal welfare, along with animal rescue, protection, and adoption activities.
“In order for rescued animals to start a new life, they need continuous protection and care,” said Cho Hee-kyung, head of the Animal Freedom Union. “The participation of companies like Natural Core that are interested in animal welfare and work together is a huge help.”

業務協約締結式は京畿道南楊州市に位置する子犬保護所「オンドッ(On Dog)」で行われ、イ・ジニョンナチュラルコア代表、チョ・ヒギョン動物自由連帯代表を含む両側関係者が参加した。
条約により、ナチュラルコアは危機動物保護のための子犬飼料などペットフード製品と養子縁組キットを動物自由連帯に定期的に支援する計画だ。支援される養子縁組キットはペット家族に届けられ、動物の年齢、健康状態、性格などを考慮したカスタムメイドの飼料やおやつなどで構成されている。これにより、養子縁組初期のペット家族の世話の負担を減らし、ペットの理解度を高めるのに役立つと期待される。
