에이직랜드가 수퍼게이트와 손잡고 엣지향 AI 생태계 협력 강화를 도모한다.
주문형반도체(ASIC) 디자인 솔루션 전문기업 에이직랜드(대표이사 이종민)가 수퍼게이트(대표이사 심승필)와 VPU(Vision Processing Unit) 개발을 위한 턴키(Turn-key) 계약을 체결 체결했다고 29일 밝혔다. 계약금액은 105억 원 규모로, 양사는 협업을 통해 고성능 VPU 개발가속화로 엣지 AI 시장에서의 입지를 본격 강화할 계획이다.
이번 계약을 통해 양사는 Vision AI 특화 칩의 상용화를 목표로 협력할 예정이다. 특히, 이번 협업은 AI VPU 칩을 실제 양산하는 에이직랜드의 첫 사례가 될 전망이며, AI CCTV, 산업용 AI 시스템 등에 주요한 부품을 공급할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
양사는 데이터 처리(Processing)와 신경망 처리 장치(NPU)의 최적화된 AI 알고리즘과 하드웨어(H/W) 통합 공급을 통해 고성능 AI 솔루션을 제공할 방침이다. 또한, 이번 협력을 시작으로 향후 자율주행 시스템과의 연계 개발까지 단계적으로 협력 범위를 확장해 나갈 계획이다.
VPU는 실시간 이미지 및 영상 인식, 딥러닝 추론에 특화된 프로세서로, 동시 다발적인 연산을 고속으로 처리할 수 있는 구조적 효율성을 갖춘 것이 특징이다. 다양한 프레임워크 및 소프트웨어 라이브러리와의 호환성을 기반으로 AI CCTV, 자율주행, 산업안전, 스마트시티, 보안, 의료, AR/VR 등 여러 산업 분야에서 핵심 솔루션으로 주목받고 있으며, 글로벌 시장 수요 또한 빠르게 증가하고 있다.
한편, 수퍼게이트는 ARM ADP 공식 파트너이자, 2024년 글로벌스타 팹리스 30의 라이징 스타로 선정된 기업으로, 고성능 컴퓨팅(HPC) 및 비전 인공지능(AI) 솔루션 분야에서 기술력을 인정받고 있다.

ASIC design solution specialist Aegic Land (CEO Jongmin Lee) announced on the 29th that it has signed a turnkey contract with Supergate (CEO Seungpil Shim) for the development of a VPU (Vision Processing Unit).
