기술보증기금(이사장 김종호, 이하 ‘기보’)은 ㈜테라시드바이오사이언스(대표이사 김흥재)를 ‘IP-Value 강소기업’으로 선정하고, 비알콜성지방간염 치료제의 기술가치평가 결과를 반영해 우수IP 가치플러스 보증(이하 ‘가치플러스 보증’) 10억원을 지원했다고 27일(금) 밝혔다.
가치플러스 보증은 기보 중앙기술평가원이 대학, 공공연구기관, 협약기관 등과 협력해 고부가가치 첨단기술 기반 지식재산(IP)을 발굴하고, 산출된 가치금액 내에서 보증과 연계해 사업화자금을 지원하는 맞춤형 보증상품이다. 또한, 기보는 고난도 기술가치평가를 통해 우수 IP로 선정된 기업을 대상으로 ‘IP-Value 강소기업’ 선정서를 수여하고 있다.
이번에 선정된 ㈜테라시드바이오사이언스는 한국신약개발연구조합(이하 ‘신약조합’)의 추천을 통해 발굴된 기업으로, 이날 선정서 수여식은 서울 영등포구 신약조합 본사에서 김흥재 대표와 조헌제 신약조합 전무 등이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.
㈜테라시드바이오사이언스는 2017년 6월 김흥재 대표가 설립한 신약개발 바이오 벤처기업으로, 핵 수용체 RORα를 활성화함으로써 Th17/IL-17 면역경로를 억제해 염증반응을 줄이는 동시에 간세포 손상과 섬유화 진행을 억제하는 이중 기전의 작용 원리를 가진 후보물질을 개발 중이다. 해당 물질은 현재 임상1상을 완료한 상태다.
기보는 ㈜테라시드바이오사이언스의 기술력을 높이 평가해 가치플러스 보증 10억원을 지원했으며, ▲보증료 감면 ▲기술특례상장 사전진단평가 무상지원 ▲투자용 기술평가 인증 등 다양한 우대혜택을 제공해 우수 IP기술의 사업화를 적극 지원할 계획이다.
이재필 기보 이사는 “기보는 가치플러스 보증을 통해 유관기관과 함께 제약바이오 분야의 유망 기술기업을 지속적으로 발굴하고 있다”며, “특히 신약개발사업은 회수기간이 길고 리스크가 높아 기존 금융 방식으로는 지원이 원활하지 않은 분야인 만큼, 앞으로도 우수 바이오 벤처기업을 적극 발굴하고 성공적인 사업화로 이어질 수 있도록 지원을 강화하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Kibo, Selects 'Terraceeed Bioscience' as IP-Value Powerhouse
The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Korea Technology Finance Corporation, Chairman Kim Jong-ho, hereinafter referred to as “KIBO”) announced on Friday the 27th that it selected TerraCid Bioscience Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Heung-jae) as an “IP-Value Powerhouse” and provided KRW 1 billion in excellent IP value plus guarantee (hereinafter referred to as “Value Plus Guarantee”) reflecting the results of the technology value evaluation of its non-alcoholic steatohepatitis treatment.
The Value Plus Guarantee is a customized guarantee product in which the Central Technology Evaluation Institute of Korea, in cooperation with universities, public research institutes, and contracted institutions, discovers high value-added, cutting-edge technology-based intellectual property (IP) and supports commercialization funds within the calculated value amount by linking it with a guarantee. In addition, KIBO awards the 'IP-Value Powerhouse' certificate to companies selected as excellent IP through high-difficulty technology value evaluation.
Terraside Bioscience Co., Ltd., which was selected this time, is a company discovered through the recommendation of the Korea Drug Development Association (hereinafter referred to as the “KDDA”), and the selection ceremony was held on this day at the KDDA headquarters in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, with the attendance of CEO Kim Heung-jae and Executive Director Cho Heon-je of the KDDA.
Terraside Bioscience Co., Ltd. is a new drug development bio venture company established in June 2017 by CEO Heung-Jae Kim. It is developing a candidate substance with a dual mechanism of action that reduces inflammation by activating the nuclear receptor RORα, thereby suppressing the Th17/IL-17 immune pathway, and simultaneously inhibiting liver cell damage and fibrosis progression. The substance has currently completed phase 1 clinical trials.
Kibo highly evaluated the technological prowess of Terraseed Bioscience Co., Ltd. and provided a value plus guarantee of KRW 1 billion. Terraside Bioscience 株式会社是一家新药开发生物风险投资公司，由首席执行官金兴在 (Heung-Jae Kim) 于 2017 年 6 月创立。该公司正在开发一种具有双重作用机制的候选物质，该物质通过激活核受体 RORα 来减轻炎症，从而抑制 Th17/IL-17 免疫通路，同时抑制肝细胞损伤和纤维化进展。该物质目前已完成 I 期临床试验。

La Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Korea Technology Finance Corporation, président Kim Jong-ho, ci-après dénommée « KIBO ») a annoncé vendredi 27 avoir sélectionné TerraCid Bioscience Co., Ltd. (PDG Kim Heung-jae) comme « IP-Value Powerhouse » et a fourni 1 milliard de KRW en excellente valeur IP plus garantie (ci-après dénommée « Value Plus Guarantee ») reflétant les résultats de l'évaluation de la valeur technologique de son traitement de la stéatohépatite non alcoolique.
La Garantie Valeur Plus est un produit de garantie personnalisé grâce auquel l'Institut central d'évaluation technologique de Corée, en collaboration avec des universités, des instituts de recherche publics et des institutions sous contrat, identifie des propriétés intellectuelles (PI) à forte valeur ajoutée et à la pointe de la technologie, et soutient les fonds de commercialisation dans la limite de la valeur calculée en les associant à une garantie. Terraside Bioscience Co., Ltd., qui a été sélectionnée cette fois-ci, est une société découverte grâce à la recommandation de la Korea Drug Development Association (ci-après dénommée « KDDA »), et la cérémonie de sélection a eu lieu ce jour-là au siège de la KDDA à Yeongdeungpo-gu, Séoul, en présence du PDG Kim Heung-jae et du directeur exécutif Cho Heon-je de la KDDA.
