플랜티넷의 자회사인 알바트로스인베스트먼트가 과학기술정보통신부가 주관하는 한국모태펀드 출자사업에서 인공지능(AI) 부문 위탁운용사(GP)로 최종 선정됐다고 7일 밝혔다.
한국모태펀드는 중소·벤처기업 육성을 위한 정책 자금으로, 각 분야별 전문 운용사를 선정해 벤처펀드에 출자하는 구조로 운영된다. 이번 AI 부문 위탁운용사 선정에는 15:2의 경쟁률이 있었으며, 알바트로스인베스트먼트는 높은 성과와 운용 역량을 바탕으로 최종 선정됐다.
알바트로스인베스트먼트는 그간 딥테크 및 AI 관련 투자에서 다수의 실적을 쌓아왔다. 지난해 웨어러블 로봇 기업 ‘엔젤로보틱스’ 투자금 회수(엑시트)에 성공했으며, 지난 3월 청산한 ‘알바트로스퓨처코리아투자조합’에서는 내부수익률(IRR) 25.3%를 기록하는 등 우수한 운용 성과를 인정받았다.
향후 알바트로스인베스트먼트는 반도체, 헬스케어, 모빌리티 등 AI 밸류체인 전반을 포괄하는 전략적 투자를 계획하고 있다. 이번에 결성될 AI 펀드 규모는 약 300억 원이며, 오는 8월까지 기관투자자 심사를 거쳐 조합 구성을 완료할 예정이다. 펀드 존속 기간은 8년, 투자 기간은 4년이다.
알바트로스인베스트먼트의 최대 주주인 플랜티넷은 유해 콘텐츠 차단 및 사이버 보안 전문 기업으로, 최근 인공지능 기술 기반의 서비스 고도화에도 주력하고 있다.
플랜티넷 관계자는 “이번 K-AI 펀드 참여를 통해 유망 AI 기업 발굴과 성장을 지원할 계획”이라며, “이미 보유한 이미지 AI, 메타데이터 분석 등 자체 기술을 바탕으로 알바트로스인베스트먼트와 협업을 강화해 시너지를 창출하겠다”고 밝혔다.
Albatross Investment selected as the AI division management company for the mother fund
Albatross Investment , a subsidiary of Plantinet, announced on the 7th that it was finally selected as the artificial intelligence (AI) sector consignment operator (GP) for the Korea Mother Fund investment project hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT.

In the future, Albatross Investment plans to make strategic investments covering the entire AI value chain, including semiconductors, healthcare, and mobility. The size of the AI fund to be formed this time is approximately 30 billion won, and the composition of the fund is scheduled to be completed by August after institutional investor review. The fund period is 8 years, and the investment period is 4 years.
Plantinet, the largest shareholder of Albatross Investment, is a company specializing in harmful content blocking and cybersecurity, and is also focusing on improving services based on artificial intelligence technology.
A Plantinet official said, “Through this K-AI fund participation, we plan to support the discovery and growth of promising AI companies,” and “We will create synergy by strengthening collaboration with Albatross Investment based on our own technologies such as image AI and metadata analysis.”

韓国モテファンドは中小・ベンチャー企業育成のための政策資金で、各分野別専門運用会社を選定してベンチャーファンドに出資する仕組みで運営される。今回のAI部門委託運用会社選定には15:2の競争率があり、アルバトロスインベストメントは高い成果と運用能力をもとに最終選定された。
アルバトロス・インベストメントはこれまでディープテック及びAI関連投資で多数の実績を積んできてきた。昨年、ウェアラブルロボット企業「エンジェロボティクス」投資金回収（出口）に成功し、去る3月に清算した「アルバトロスピューチャーコリア投資組合」では内部収益率（IRR）25.3％を記録するなど優れた運用成果を認められた。
今後、アルバトロスインベストメントは半導体、ヘルスケア、モビリティなどAIバリューチェーン全般を包括する戦略的投資を計画している。今回結成されるAIファンド規模は約300億ウォンで、8月まで機関投資家審査を経て組合構成を完了する予定だ。ファンド存続期間は8年、投資期間は4年である。
アルバトロスインベストメントの最大株主であるプランティネットは、有害コンテンツの遮断およびサイバーセキュリティ専門企業であり、最近人工知能技術基盤のサービスの高度化にも注力している。
プランティネット関係者は「今回のK-AIファンド参加を通じて有望AI企業の発掘と成長を支援する計画」とし、「すでに保有したイメージAI、メタデータ分析など独自の技術をもとにアルバトロスインベストメントとコラボレーションを強化してシナジーを創出する」と明らかにした。
