스타트업 액셀러레이터 씨엔티테크(대표 전화성)가 글로벌 농업 지식재산권(IP) 거래 플랫폼을 운영하는 ㈜로버스(대표 박창준)에 Pre-A 라운드 투자를 단행했다고 15일 밝혔다.
이번 투자 라운드는 씨엔티테크 외에 농업정책보험금융원, KB증권, 비디씨액셀러레이터, 앤디스파트너스, 앤틀러코리아 등이 공동 참여했으며, 총 20억 원 규모로 마무리됐다. 해당 투자는 ‘KDB넥스트원–씨엔티테크–비디씨 스타트업 투자조합’을 통해 이뤄졌으며, 해당 조합은 한국산업은행, 씨엔티테크, 비디씨액셀러레이터가 출자해 올해 조성한 펀드다.
2023년 설립된 로버스는 종자 및 품종 IP 등록, 유통, 계약, 정산 등의 과정을 디지털화한 자체 AI 솔루션 ‘Genix’를 기반으로, 글로벌 종자 IP 거래 시장에 진출하고 있다. 현재 41만 종 이상의 품종 데이터를 확보하고 있으며, 이를 활용한 디지털 육종 서비스를 통해 재배 지역, 기후, 토양 조건 등에 최적화된 품종 추천 및 개발 지원이 가능하다는 점에서 차별화를 갖는다.
로버스는 이탈리아 고대 곡물 ‘파로(Farro)’의 국내 유통에 이어, 국내 토종 품종 ‘향미’의 미국 수출 사업을 추진 중이다. 2024년 상반기 매출은 전년 동기 대비 30배 이상 증가하며 빠른 성장세를 기록하고 있다.
씨엔티테크 전화성 대표는 “기후 변화로 인해 작물 재배 조건이 빠르게 변하는 상황에서, 품종에 대한 글로벌 IP 거래 수요가 지속적으로 증가하고 있다”며 “로버스는 축적된 품종 데이터를 활용한 디지털 육종 기술을 통해 종자 개발 주기를 획기적으로 단축하고, 글로벌 종자 산업의 패러다임 전환을 주도할 수 있는 기업”이라고 밝혔다.

CNT Tech Invests in Global Agricultural IP Company 'Robus'… "Attracting a Total of 2 Billion Won"
Startup accelerator CNT Tech (CEO Jeon Hwa-seong) announced on the 15th that it has made a Pre-A round investment in Robus Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Chang-jun), which operates a global agricultural intellectual property (IP) trading platform.
In addition to CNT Tech, this investment round was jointly participated by the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, KB Securities, BDC Accelerator, Andis Partners, and Antler Korea, and was concluded with a total of 2 billion won. The investment was made through the 'KDB Next One-CNT Tech-BDC Startup Investment Association', a fund established this year with investments from the Korea Development Bank, CNT Tech, and BDC Accelerator.
Founded in 2023, Rovers is entering the global seed IP trading market based on its own AI solution, 'Genix', which digitalizes the process of seed and variety IP registration, distribution, contracts, and settlement. It currently has data on over 410,000 varieties, and differentiates itself by being able to recommend and support the development of varieties optimized for cultivation regions, climate, and soil conditions through digital breeding services utilizing this.
Following the domestic distribution of the Italian ancient grain 'Farro', Robus is promoting the export business of the domestic indigenous variety 'Hyangmi' to the US. Sales in the first half of 2024 are growing rapidly, increasing more than 30 times compared to the same period last year.
“As crop cultivation conditions are rapidly changing due to climate change, the demand for global IP transactions for varieties is continuously increasing,” said CNT Tech CEO Jeon Hwa-seong. “Rovers is a company that can dramatically shorten the seed development cycle and lead a paradigm shift in the global seed industry through digital breeding technology that utilizes accumulated variety data.”

本轮融资由CNT Tech参与，此外，全国农协、KB证券、BDC Accelerator、Andis Partners、Antler Korea等也参与其中，总金额达20亿韩元。本次投资由今年成立的“KDB Next One-CNT Tech-BDC创业投资联盟”进行，该联盟由韩国产业银行、CNT Tech和BDC Accelerator共同出资。
Rovers成立于2023年，凭借其自主研发的AI解决方案“Genix”进军全球种子知识产权交易市场。该解决方案将种子和品种知识产权的注册、分配、合同和结算流程数字化。目前，该公司拥有超过41万个品种的数据，并通过利用这些数据的数字化育种服务，推荐并支持针对种植地域、气候和土壤条件进行优化的品种开发，从而脱颖而出。
继意大利传统谷物“Farro”在国内销售后，Robus正在推进国内本土品种“Hyangmi”对美出口业务。2024年上半年的销售额与去年同期相比增长了30倍以上，呈现快速增长势头。

Cet investissement a été réalisé via la « KDB Next One-CNT Tech-BDC Startup Investment Association », un fonds créé cette année grâce à des investissements de la Banque coréenne de développement, de CNT Tech et de BDC Accelerator.
Fondée en 2023, Rovers fait son entrée sur le marché mondial du négoce de PI de semences grâce à sa propre solution d'IA, « Genix », qui numérise le processus d'enregistrement, de distribution, de contractualisation et de règlement des PI de semences et de variétés. L'entreprise dispose actuellement de données sur plus de 410 000 variétés et se distingue par sa capacité à recommander et à accompagner le développement de variétés optimisées pour les régions de culture, le climat et les conditions pédologiques grâce à des services de sélection numérique qui exploitent ces données.
