‘아이디어스’를 운영하는 (주)백패커(대표 김동환)가 주문형 디지털 인쇄 및 굿즈 제작 전문 기업 (주)베러웨이시스템즈(대표 양평)에 총 47억원을 투자했다고 29일 밝혔다.
이번 투자는 베러웨이시스템즈의 신주와 구주를 인수하는 형태로 진행됐다. 베러웨이시스템즈는 올해 초 그래비티프라이빗에쿼티(그래비티PE)로부터 40억원 규모의 투자를 유치한 데 이어, 이번 전략적 투자까지 더해 추가 성장 자금을 확보하게 됐다.
‘레드프린팅 앤 프레스’를 운영 중인 베러웨이시스템즈는 명함·홍보물·스티커 등 전통 인쇄물부터 의류, 액세서리, 라이프스타일 제품 등 굿즈까지 380여 종의 제품에 맞춤형 디자인을 제작해 주며 다품종 소량 생산이 가능한 유연한 제조 시스템을 갖추고 있다.
백패커는 베러웨이시스템즈 투자로 아이디어스 작가, 텀블벅 창작자, 텐바이텐 브랜드 입점사들의 생산까지 연결되는 커머스 밸류체인을 보다 긴밀하게 내재화하게 됐다. 레드프린팅과의 협업으로 MOQ(최소 주문 수량) 부담 없는 제작 파트너를 확보했으며, 주문·생산·포장·배송에 이르는 제작 후 공정까지 커스터마이징이 가능한 구조도 함께 구축했다.
향후 백패커는 창작자에게 ▲제작 단가 할인 ▲전담 운영 인력 배치 ▲PB 상품 생산 다변화 등의 혜택을 제공, 플랫폼별 창작 활동의 생산 파트를 유연하게 지원할 계획이다.

This investment took the form of the acquisition of new and existing shares in Beraway Systems. Following a KRW 4 billion investment from Gravity Private Equity (Gravity PE) earlier this year, Beraway Systems secured additional growth capital with this strategic investment.
Beraway Systems, which operates 'Red Printing & Press', produces custom designs for over 380 products, ranging from traditional printed materials such as business cards, promotional materials, and stickers to goods such as clothing, accessories, and lifestyle products. It also has a flexible manufacturing system that enables small-batch production of a wide variety of products.
With its investment in Betterway Systems, Backpacker has more closely integrated the commerce value chain, connecting Ideas writers, Tumblbug creators, and Ten by Ten brand vendors to production. Collaborating with Redprinting has secured a manufacturing partner with no MOQ (minimum order quantity) burdens, and has also established a structure that allows for customization of the entire post-production process, from ordering and production to packaging and delivery.
In the future, Backpacker plans to flexibly support the production part of creative activities on each platform by providing creators with benefits such as ▲production unit price discounts ▲dedicated operational personnel assignment ▲diversification of PB product production.
“Backpacker’s strategic investment is a recognition of our production-on-demand (POD) technology and infrastructure,” said Yangpyeong CEO of Beraway Systems. “We will strive to ensure that creators can utilize POD services more naturally and easily within the Backpacker ecosystem.”
Backpacker CEO Kim Dong-hwan said, “This investment is a decision to go beyond a simple outsourcing relationship and bring the infrastructure for on-demand production into the creator ecosystem,” and added, “We will continue to actively participate in management so that creators on each platform, including Ideas, Tumblbug, and Ten by Ten, can efficiently address the common need for small- to medium-quantity, multi-variety production.”
