미세유체 기반 당화혈색소(A1C) 측정 의료기기를 개발하는 오렌지바이오메드(대표 고웅현·박예슬)가 글로벌 경제 전문지 포춘코리아(Fortune Korea)가 발표한 ‘한국 헬스케어 혁신 기업 40(Fortune Korea’s Top 40 Emerging S. Korean Healthcare Innovations)’에 선정됐다고 밝혔다.
이번 선정은 미국 의료 분야의 주요 전문가(Key Opinion Leaders)와 글로벌 컨설팅사 비디엠티 글로벌(BDMT Global)의 평가를 바탕으로 이뤄졌다. 혁신성, 시장 적합성, 미국 시장 진출 가능성 등 여러 항목에 대한 종합 평가가 이루어졌으며, 특히 미국 의료 현장에서의 미충족 수요를 해결할 수 있는 기술을 보유한 기업들이 높은 평가를 받았다.
심사단은 “오렌지바이오메드의 미세유체 기술 기반의 소형 기기인 ‘OBM rapid A1c’는 기존의 실험실 기반 당화혈색소 검사에 따른 접근성 문제를 해결할 수 있는 가능성을 갖추고 있다”고 평가했다.
오렌지바이오메드는 세계 최초로 미세유체 기반의 물리적 방식으로 당화혈색소를 측정하는 기술을 보유하고 있으며, 이를 활용해 소형화된 진단기기 개발을 진행 중이다. 해당 기술은 당뇨병 환자들의 혈당 관리와 모니터링 접근성을 개선하는 데 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
한편, 회사는 만성질환 예방을 위한 ‘M.A.P. YOUR HEALTH’ 캠페인을 전개 중이며, 최근 미국 시카고에서 18개 이상 보건·커뮤니티 기관과 협력해 지역 행사를 개최하는 등 북미 시장에서의 인지도 확대에도 나서고 있다.

This selection was based on evaluations by leading US healthcare experts (Key Opinion Leaders) and the global consulting firm BDMT Global. Comprehensive evaluations were conducted on a variety of criteria, including innovation, market fit, and potential for US market entry. Companies with technologies that address unmet needs in the US healthcare landscape received particularly high marks.
The panel of judges evaluated that “Orange Biomed’s small device based on microfluidic technology, ‘OBM rapid A1c,’ has the potential to solve the accessibility problem of existing laboratory-based glycated hemoglobin tests.”
Orange Biomed possesses the world's first microfluidic-based physical method for measuring glycated hemoglobin, and is currently developing a miniaturized diagnostic device utilizing this technology. This technology is expected to contribute to improving blood sugar management and monitoring accessibility for diabetes patients.
Meanwhile, the company is currently running the 'MAP YOUR HEALTH' campaign to prevent chronic diseases, and is also working to increase its awareness in the North American market, such as by recently holding a local event in Chicago in collaboration with more than 18 health and community organizations.

Orange Biomed (PDG Woong-Hyeon Koh et Yeseul Park), qui développe un dispositif médical de mesure de l'hémoglobine glyquée (A1C) basé sur la microfluidique, a annoncé avoir été sélectionné comme l'une des « 40 meilleures innovations émergentes en matière de soins de santé en Corée du Sud » par Fortune Korea, un magazine économique mondial.
Cette sélection s'appuie sur les évaluations d'éminents experts américains du secteur de la santé (Key Opinion Leaders) et du cabinet de conseil international BDMT Global.
