The Korean Public Relations Association and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) will host a "CSR and ESG Expert Conference for a Sustainable Future."

The Korean Public Relations Association (President Yoo Seon-wook) and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) CSRCom & Sustainability Hub (Director Kim So-ra) will jointly host the 'Drawing a Sustainable Future: 2025 Korea CSRESG Conference' with PR experts at the Grand Ballroom of the Mondrian Hotel in Itaewon, Seoul on Friday, August 22.

This international conference was organized to explore future strategies in a rapidly changing business environment, with corporate social responsibility (CSR) and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors globally becoming key indicators of sustainable growth. Opinion leaders from PR academia and the CSR and ESG industries will discuss current best practices, the latest research insights, and future challenges, offering practical directions for developing responsible and sustainable organizational operations and communications.

This conference, in particular, delves into the most pressing challenges facing modern society and businesses. A wide range of topics will be discussed, including authentic ESG reporting and narrative strategies that transcend regulations, ways to integrate sustainability across the entire supply chain from production to consumption, and unique sustainability practices in the entertainment industry.

The academic session will feature presentations by top-tier domestic and international researchers, adding to the academic depth. Professor Kim Jang-hyun of Sungkyunkwan University will present a study on enhancing the objectivity of ESG performance measurement through "Deep Learning-Based ESG Quantification Research." Professor Son Hyun-sang of the University of New Mexico will present a study examining the "Practical Impact of ESG Communication" using big data from Interbrand's top 100 global brands. Professor Cho Soo-young of Kyung Hee University will offer a new perspective on the social role of corporations, exploring the future of corporate social advocacy (CSA).

The industry session will feature leading Korean companies sharing innovative practices and engaging in international, practical discussions. In his keynote address, POSCO Research Institute Research Fellow Cheon Seong-hyeon will share POSCO's strategy and vision under the title "ESG Management that Adds Value to the World." Kakao Corp. Leader Seo Eun-hee will discuss strategies and practical activities for "Inclusive AI Literacy Education," while YG Entertainment Director Ha Hye-ryeong will present a case study on "Sustainable Performance," suggesting the future of K-Pop in the global market.

Yoo Seon-wook, President of the Korea Public Relations Association and Professor at Hankyung National University, said, “At a time when corporate social responsibility and sustainability have become more important than ever, it is very meaningful to hold this international conference together with the Chinese University of Hong Kong, which is leading CSR research in Asia.” He added, “I hope that this event will serve as a forum for in-depth discussion that will suggest the direction for Korea’s CSR and ESG fields by connecting the latest research in academia with vivid examples from the industrial field.”
