
The Busan Creative Economy Innovation Center (CEO Yongwoo Kim, hereinafter referred to as the Busan Creative Economy Innovation Center) announced that it held a 'Business Agreement Ceremony for Joint Construction and Operation of the 2025 Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) Busan Pavilion' at the Busan Creative Economy Innovation Center on the 14th.
This agreement was attended by Director Lee Seo-jeong of the RISE Business Unit at Korea National Maritime and Ocean University, Director Hwang Ki-hyeon of the RISE Business Unit at Dongseo University, Director Lee Jin of the RISE Business Unit at Dong-A University, and Director Lee Im-geon of the RISE Business Unit at Dong-Eui University. Each institution and university will actively promote the global advancement of Busan's smart city industry by dividing up roles such as ▲ planning and designing the Busan Pavilion, ▲ discovering and supporting participating companies, ▲ operating public relations and networking events, and ▲ linking follow-up projects to the exhibition.
SCEWC is an international smart city event held annually in Barcelona, Spain. It brings together cities, companies, and organizations from around the world to share their vision for future cities and showcase innovative technologies. This agreement aims to establish and operate a "Busan Pavilion" within the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport's Korea Pavilion at SCEWC 2025, showcasing Busan's smart city technology and capabilities on the international stage.
Kim Yong-woo, CEO of Busan Changgyeong Center, said, “The Smart City Expo World Congress is a place of innovation where cities and companies from around the world come together to share their vision for future cities,” and added, “Through this agreement, the successful construction of the ‘Busan Pavilion’ will become an important milestone for Busan to advance as a leading global smart city.”
