Extended reality (XR) fandom platform XROMEDA announced on the 19th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with high-definition VR video solution company Alpha Circle (CEO Shin Ui-hyeon) to expand its immersive content business.
This agreement aims to lower the barriers to entry for XR content production and consumption, and jointly promote the popularization of fan-centric, D2C (Direct to Customer)-based XR content.
AlphaCircle is expanding its business in the entertainment sector with its proprietary 8K 3D-based, high-definition VR video solution, AlphaView. AlphaView utilizes an algorithm that seamlessly synchronizes segmented video according to the user's field of view, enabling immersive 360-degree content experiences even on smartphones and low-cost HMDs (head-mounted displays).
Xromeda will support the distribution of Alpha Circle's high-quality XR content through its platform, and the two companies plan to jointly plan and produce new immersive content and introduce it to the market. In particular, the two companies will develop various forms of XR content by utilizing content IP (Intellectual Property) from various fields such as music, broadcasting, and fandom, and will also cooperate on expanding realistic entertainment content such as XR concerts and XR fan meetings.
Additionally, Alpha Circle will apply its video technology to Exromeda's VR pictorial brand 'VROOK' to produce a new, high-definition version, and plans to expand the scope of cooperation between the two companies to include actual products and services.
Kim Myeong-hyun, head of the business division of Exromeda, said, “The combination of the two companies’ technologies will present a new approach to experiencing high-definition XR content without high-spec equipment,” and “Based on Exromeda’s 3D data lightweighting and web streaming technology and Alpha Circle’s video algorithm, we will build a fan-centered XR content ecosystem.”
